He may be confident and should be considering he would keep himself ha-ha. I just wonder more Gettlemen and Rivera's feeling behind closed doors. Oh well if he balls out Thursday or keeps dropping that'll choose for them.
That's the rub. How many of those 44 players were starters? Not many. Stating its the same you clearly haven't read some of those 44. It is comparable because most Gettlemens picks are starters and that's a huge different. Going from just drafted to starting is rare for non first rounder. Thus my point. You keep changing your comparisons from non starters to thinking Hurney had starters from his non first round picks. That's just not the case.
No it wouldnt be a long list. By the way I'm talking about starters not just being on the team. I even specifically stated starters in my post. So honestly I don't have any idea what your going on about discounting my post while ignoring my point completely.
why does no one know we were a different fuging team from our loosing streak and the push. Half our fuging defense was totally different people. Our Oline also changed dramatically. Guess what? The same guys that made the push are back and we've added even more talenttalent. So fuging pay the fug attention to the Roster and stop fuging quoting our record, because guess what that shitty record fuged all the rest of the division over. Deal with it.
Ok lets play that game. CJ was drafted in 2007 and the oldest draft you mentioned. Ignoring first round picks 44 players were drafted by Hurney. Of those picks 5 are still on the team being CJ, Kalil, Silatolu, Frank Alexander(IR), Josh Norman. Notable others playing on other teams being Captain Munnerlyn, Brandon Lafell, Greg Hardy. So out of 6 years of drafts only 8 of 44 non first round picks are still playing in the NFL. Now let's look at Gettlemens last three drafts. Again ignoring first round picks there is 13 picks he has made. Out of those 10 are still on the roster. Kk Short, AJ Klein, Kony Ealy, Trai Turner, Tre Boston, Bene Benwinkere, Devin Funchess, Daryl Williams, David Mayo, CAP. Of those 5 or 6 are starters and the rest are very close. Those not on the team but still in the NfL are Kenjon Barner(looked great this preseason), and ever injured Tyler Gaffney. So out of 3 years of drafts 10 of 13 non first round picks are still playing in the NFL. I think these number speak for themselves as far as who drafts better and proves Gettlemen is a great GM at draft day.
One group is older. Name another? Also the backups are very young with Tre and Bene. Someone did a graph of our roster and we have more young than old FYI. That's the same asinine argument people used for us drafting Luke when we had Beason. To complain about Shaq before he's even played a real game and saying the pick is a mistake is a big time over reach. Hurney hit on only 1st round picks and can anyone name anyone under that point still on the team and doing well? Gettlemens picks almost all have been big additions from 1 to 7. Even UDFA are starting that look great. Complaining about the loss of 3 groups when we had a shitty cap situation is also uninformed. Also we had retirements that hurt too. But we somehow did all those things and are staying competitive. That's hard to change so much and still have won the division twice. Lastly if anyone references how bad we were last year needs to remember that putting in younger better players changed the team completely. Half our starting defense and a good bit of offence that started last year wasn't even playing in our big end of the year win streak.
Wrong on all levels at this point I feel like you have a axe to grind. I just don't see where your thought process is comming from. His drafts have been crazy good except one. To say it hasn't been your clearly misinformed or purposefully ignoring the facts.
As opposed to picking 1 good player a year. Trading away number one draft picks like they are useless. Throwing money away on so called superstar signings. Then giving huge contracts away to a lot of players so they don't leave. All in the process bankrupting your future. Thats what Hurney did to us and I'm sorry but I much prefer Gettlemens methods. Build through the draft, pay players in key positions, sign players that are affordable but can fill a need temporarily, don't be afraid to loose a few guys that want too much. Thats how you both win now and build for the future so your constant contenders. You'd be singing a different toon had we not got unlucky with injuries. That poo happens and just because it did doesn't mean Gettlemens process doesn't work. Hell even with our issues this team is still on track for success and we could very well win alot of games this year.
SI is an antiquated news and story delivery system. They are full of old farts who reminisce about the good ol days of football. They are a dying breed and soon will join the likes of other shitty mags. Dead.
