  1. Al Willing To Take A Pay Cut

Welp, although we shouldn't, I bet we give him an extension for like 7-8M per.
  2. Don Gregory seemingly high on Garrett and Cash

I was hoping it was more than that because that being the biggest reason reminds me of guys like Robert Lester. I didn't want him, and although he did make plays here for a year or so, his limitations definitely showed why he had went undrafted. He wasn't athletic enough for safety, but wasnt stout enough for LB. But, i trust our scouts and hopefully the official switch to LB shows he doesn't have the same limitations as Lester did.
  3. Dave Gettleman...Thug Life...Enjoy

For all the poo i talk about some of his moves, Gettleman is a funny dude. When I remove the emotional aspect of Smitty and Norman and drafting DT after DT (calm down, I'm joking), I really do appreciate him. I'm an asshole, and I think he's an asshole, so it angers me from afar that I can't be his level of asshole. This was funny. The end.
  4. Don Gregory seemingly high on Garrett and Cash

Even as a rival alum, I really love the Cash signing. He was a beast to matchup against in college, and from all appearances, to me at least, he appeared to be among the most skilled and athletic guys on the field. I'm sure it has been asked a million times over the last few days, but I was on a self-imposed decompression break lol, but does anyone have a definitive answer as to why he wasn't drafted? I just can't think of a good reason unless it was a Myles Jack-type injury concern. As far as Garrett,i've seen a lot of people excited about him, but what's the measureables?

But, that team needed a total overhaul starting with Cam. This team has a few solid pieces, and Kemba has been a winner his whole life... he still is, but he needs a team around him that are also winners. And as I said before, you win over time with stars. Kemba is a lower-tier star, we need to find a way to bring in one bigger than him to help. Problem is, making it to the playoffs and knocked out in the first round and drafting horribly isn't the way to do it.
  6. Game 7

I actually meant to quite Old, but this quoting system is broke so I'll just post to both of you... But, usually I'm with you on the big market/bigger story conspiracy, but this loss was on us. The officating was a joke, but we werent even competitive enough for it to make a difference. Fuethermore, the officiating heavily favored us throughout the series until the last 2 mins or so of game 6, we just didn't show up until game 3, so it didnt matter. And usually big markets are favored, but plenty smaller/mid-markets have had success in the playoffs - most notably and sustainably, the Spurs. OKC, Orlando (Shaq/Penny then Howard), Portlamd in the Lakers glory years , Sacramento during the same time (which the NBA did clearly and purposely job them out of a championship), and Cleveland all have had sustained success in the playoffs at some point over the last 20 years. The common denominator? They had at least one, sometimes two star players. If officiating sucks in a game, look who is on floor. Officials are going to favor the star player and their team. We aren't successful in the playoffs because we don't have the players to get there right now. Now, just as is the case with the NFL, does the governing body intervene when it comes to the championship? I believe they often do. But, getting there is the first step, and we aren't currently constructed to even get out of the first round with certainty. There definitely needs to be some major changes this offseason.

I see what you're saying cpf, but imo, what ended our season was defense, not offense. I feel like MKG has improved his shot enough to be a threat. Hell, in one of those games he came back for this season, he hit 2 or 3 threes in one game, and confidently. Pair that with his defense, and he's fine. We'll still need the ability to create and drive outside of Kemba and MKG can do that. The problem is he can't be trusted to stay healthy. In my opinion, regardless the offensive system, of you have a Whiteside or Noah in the middle and MKG on the wing, we win that series 3-1. The difference for us was defensive stops, which often lead to easy offense where the 4 out, 1 in isn't even needed. In the games we lost, especially today, the defense was non-existent. Both people sandbagging on picks, no hedging, no bumping, no physicality... we literally bent over and handed Miami the lube. With a defensive presence in the middle and MKG on the outside, that poo doesn't happen.
  8. Game 7

Not neccessarily, but from everything I've read, in respect to the rising cap and the relative cap floor, if we don't pay him that, several teams will.
  9. Game 7

And I've been pulling for Cody since day one, but i'm done with that experiment too. He's not worth the handful of highlight dunks he has per season when the rest of the time he is throwing up shots like he's never touched a basketball in his life and is scared of contact. Time to move on or drastically reduce his role. And hopefully Frank finds a niche, meaning we can move him out to his natural stretch big role once we fill in the right pieces. I'm almost certain 85% of his PT came at the 3 this year, and that is a recipe for disaster. To his credit, unlike Cody, he at least digs in and gives 100% effort at all times, but peojecting out, as we sit here now, it's not looking good unless that change to full-time big is made.
  10. Game 7

That's the part that bothers me most, Red. I KNOW this team was good enough to win a playoff series, and they showed it for about 3.75 games of this series... but, they have a history of this wildly bipolar inconsistency. They have been either one extreme or the other and that has to change. And i'm with you, i can't pinpoint what exactly is the cause, but I think someone like Whiteside and/or if we could find a way to swing a deal for a healthy Joakim Noah this offseason, that would instantly propel us into second round contention. Also, if MKG can stay healthy, that will make a huge difference.
  11. Game 7

Ask yourself... even if it wasn't our team and we're just being objective... if you are good enough to beat a team 3 times out of 5 game stretch - how the fug do you come out and get blown out by 40 when it counts? We just didn't show up mentally.
  12. Game 7

I think we have a chance with Whiteside. fug Howard. I want no part of that ish here... And while personally, i agree with you about Batum in yesrs past, the huge jump in the cap is going to make a lot of guys max players that didn't deserve it in years past.
  13. Game 7

Yeah, I think Whiteside is what we need. He has some boneheaded moments, but he has an all-around game and the consistent post defense we need.
  14. Game 7

It also didnt help but as i expected the refs made it an uphill battle in the 2nd half.
  15. Game 7

Kemba has no legs. He looks like poo.
