I don't disagree with you. I was speaking more on an American problem in general, which is what is the current greater threat to the average American. Terrorism, immigration, and birthright citizenship are the big topics being pushed as we get closer to the election, but getting gunned down by some maniac right here at home is becoming an American way of life.
We aren't the only country on this planet with mentally ill individuals. Yes that is a part of the problem that needs to be addressed. But first you need to do everything you can to prevent those mentally ill individuals from getting firearms in the first place. This is why you don't see this sort of thing several times a year in places like the U.K., Australia, etc.
SOA was really good the first few seasons, it tailed off in the last two. Honestly by the end I didn't all that much care anymore. As for The Soprano's, that to me adds realism to the character, that also happens to Walter White. Slowly but surely all that they have done unravels them to the core, and changes them irreparably. But you still cannot stop watching. I think that is why those are two of the greatest series in the history of television. Well that, and superb performances from the lead actors.
It's interesting that most of these shooters are white males in their early twenties. Yet so many politicians on the right push the "scary immigrants, and foreigners in the middle east are the biggest threat to america" angle to mouth breathing xenophobes all day, and it apparently works pretty well.
I'm not going to deny that there is anything whatsoever at all going on psychologically when it comes to individuals wanting to change their gender, but I don't think the instance in this thread is a good starting point to attempt to make any comparisons or general conclusions. Many people on this planet are simply not happy with the way they look in a world that revolves heavily around image, depression often plays a key role. It's a tough situation. This sort of scenario would be more like one of those bizarre plastic surgeries, like someone trying to make themselves look like an animal.
In all seriousness, I like you Jangler. I would have a beer with you, and try to understand where you're coming from on this. I genuinely believe you are a better person than this sort of logic your are throwing around here. There is a reason someone like g5 is high fiving you right now. Just remember that.
