  1. I have no problem with this as long as the rules are amended to make "personal fouls" or whatever falls under the "red/yellow card" idea be the ones that are either intentionally malicious or overly reckless.  Two taunting penalties or brushing the facemask with the pinky fingertip or something like that shouldn't get someone kicked out.
  2. I grew up with this team

Mine is a similar story :) I was 13 when the Panthers were made.  I had already been an NFL fan for 5 years (first was a fan of Lawrence Taylor, then in 92 switched to the Cowboys pre-SB cuz they were fun to watch).  I was the ONLY football fan in my entire family, though.  I started by randomly flipping on the Redskins vs Bills Super Bowl at the age of 8 (or so, don't remember exactly, just did backwards math) and instantly became hooked.  I still vividly remember watching that one, I made a big yellow bowl of popcorn with some Lawry's seasoning salt and was mesmerized.  Needless to say, switched over to Panthers in 95 and never looked back :)  Love this team.
  3. #1 Defense vs. # Offense Narrative

I agree with most of what you said, but not this.  Points win the game, points are what matters.  I DO agree they should remove defensive/st touchdowns from the total.  I've always had a problem with that.  Scoring offense should be points scored by the offense.  "Total offense" is affected by a bad st return game just like "scoring offense" is affected by a good defense that gets turnovers and gives the offense a short field.  So you can't look at either in a complete vacuum, and since points are what matter I think scoring offense is the best way to look at it.  Always have.  And scoring defense the same way, points are what matter so the defense that prevents the most points is the best defense.
  4. #1 Defense vs. # Offense Narrative

Yea the #1 offense vs #1 defense rhetoric is annoying. We're #1 in offensive points (the stat that matters) they're #1 in defensive yards (the stat that doesn't).  If you're gonna compare ranks like that you gotta use the same scale. It's the #1 offense vs the #3 or 4 or something like that defense.
  5. The salt is strong in that article, but it's not wrong.
  6. ESPN's GIF of Cam Newton seems a bit off to me...

They made a white Cam that is moving jerkily. How could you not bring it up?  It's almost like a low rent parody from some satirical website like the onion or something.
  7. This years Clueless Gamer...

That was good, but Marshawn Lynch made that segment last year, and he made it this year too.  He's pure gold.
  8. Snoop Dogg Interviews Cam Newton

Haven't seen a link to it.  Worth it's own thread.  Good OP.

  14. Sanders talking smack on Norman

Definitely clicked this thinking it was going to be about Deion.
  15. A bit of a subplot

Typo that caused serious confusion for me for about 15 seconds, I was about to say "a defensive coordinator can fire a special teams coach? weird".  I think you mean to say "Denver defensive coordinator" heh.
