  1. Ronald Leary wants out of Dallas

Trai Turner is 22. That is crazy.
  2. EPL does not have Pepe. Advantage EPL.
  3. If you want to go that route, Ed Kugbila is the only option. No one mentions him because DG has been so good at roster building it hasn't mattered.
  4. From a value standpoint, it's easily Smitty. But given the importance surrounding the pick, and the alternatives (Gabbert, giving Clausen another season, etc.) the best pick is Cam.
  5. Drew Brees..... Team Player

At this point in his career it would be more about assuring where his career ends so he doesn't have to jettison out to Denver or Arizona at 38 or 39 and be away from his family. You can also spread out the cap hit over the course of the extension. Typically players/agents will opt for future security over risking injury to get to the open market. It appears in this case they haven't afforded Brees that option, and now he's going to make them pay.
  6. Drew Brees..... Team Player

The thread title reflects poorly on Brees, but I don't see how any of this is Drew's fault. It's a huge indictment on New Orleans management. Brees probably wants to finish his career in New Orleans and expected to be treated to negotiations fitting for a franchise QB that literally saved the franchise from moving. I would be frustrated if I was Brees and I kept being treated as less and less of a priority. Saints should have gotten a sensible extension done to lower his cap number or released him. Instead, they tried to keep putting off taking care of their QB in favor of spending elsewhere to make a SB run and now they've run out of time.
  7. I still say the play action bootleg out of the bunch formation the Panthers use in short yardage situations is impossible to stop. I'm pretty sure that's what Rainmaker has drawn up.^ The play action freezes the pass rush and leaves LBs and DEs with the unenviable choice of preventing either a wide open Olsen reception or Cam running around or through them for the first down.
  8. POLL: With the #22 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft...

How? For all we know, this is a Ted Ginn/Panthers situation: A career backup that occasionally shows flashes of his potential in the right system but also shows why he is a backup. There's a reason why when he hit the market he ended up with a modest deal, similar to what we gave Lin (ironically, who we gave up Biz to sign.) Lin is an appropriate comparison here, too. This year he single handedly won us games against the Spurs and Cavs, but also had some games where he looked like a d-league player. He was nice to have, no doubt, but nobody is starting him over a healthy Kemba, just like Biz wouldn't start over healthy Valanciunas. Biz did not fit here and wasn't going to fit here. Period. Steve Clifford's system requires a player in the post with some discernable offensive skill to move the ball to shooters around the perimeter. Al and Hawes are frustrating to watch (and I would prefer to move on from Al in particular,) but they can move the ball around and open things up for shooters. Folks are focusing way too much on what Biz is doing in single games in Toronto without putting it in the context of this Hornets team. This team was top ten in both offensive and defensive efficiency, accumulated 48 wins, 3 playoff victories, and did it without MKG and Biz.
  9. POLL: With the #22 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft...

Sure, but you're going to have to explain why Lin, Lee, Marvin and the rest of our depth is going away so we can spend a truckload on a guy who has never been more than a backup. Good grief if these are the threads for Bismack Biyombo the Josh Norman threads this fall are going to be a doozy.
  10. 2016 NBA LOTTERY 8PM ET

If you believe the trade was that good and actually includes this pick... Ainge offered it to Miami next and they turned it down, too. In this market with the cap jumping up, teams are going to want quality on rookie deals, not quantity. Ainge was mad because instead of getting Winslow he was forced to take Terry Rozier and RJ Hunter. He implicitly threw Charlotte under the bus because the Frank selection was controversial. Looking back, it's not nearly as bad as most of us thought it would be.
  11. Brandon Boykin to visit Falcons

The problem is you and all the other contrarians believe that even if there is the slightest disagreement, there MUST be dysfunction and everything will fall apart. You're manufacturing drama that doesn't exist because you're mad about how management is running things. They have the league MVP and are a favorite to defend the NFC. There are enough eyes on this team that if there was discord, we would have heard about it by now. Take your L and move on.
  12. POLL: With the #22 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft...

Now you're just making up random names.

If KB_fan says you're wrong, you're probably wrong.
  14. POLL: With the #22 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft...

    Thon Maker
  15. Norman "Panthers aren't family enough"

Avant and Cason openly criticized Rivera's coaching after the Minnesota debacle at the lowest point in the season. They were brought in to be mentors to young players in those units, and that lack of professionalism was not what management had in mind. While Rivera's coaching could have been criticized at that point, you can't have it being done by players openly to the media. After they were released, the team went on a run to the division title and they haven't stopped.
