  1. Sexting

The inability to have a simple, in-person conversation with someone has devolved this far. There are people out there who don't even have the ability to walk up to another person and say, "Hey, wanna f***?"
  2. An Inexcusable, Willful Disregard for the Rules

I was a Kasich guy, too, but I have not given up hope. While I do not support all of his social opinions, I do believe he could be a candidate who would work both sides of the aisle.... if that's ever again possible. So, while I may not be able to support him, I can certainly have my ideology which is best personified by him. My biggest fear is the country has become so completely divisive and vitriolic that we may never again see a true representative government which actually has the "leave it better than you found it" mentality. 2016- the year when Republicans will vote for someone less conservative than the Democratic candidate simply because he calls himself a Republican and Democrats will vote for a conservative candidate who calls herself a Democrat or a write-in reform candidate, proving once and for all people vote because of the letter behind the name, not the platform on which they run.
  3. WTH's going on on Bald Head Island?

I usually side with the cops and am pretty understanding of what they face on a daily basis since I spend a lot of time alongside them and work pretty closely with the Dept. But if all it takes to set one off is a mouthy, small, possibly intoxicated woman, there's a problem somewhere. Myself and my inspectors get mouthed at daily. Cursed and threatened is part of our daily routine and sometimes it's with a cop escort, but I have yet to see an officer take someone down for running their mouth. Jus' sayin'.
  4. WTH's going on on Bald Head Island?

Not disputing any of that. Have you seen pics of "mom?" Seriously, all of maybe 5'4" and maybe 120. 2 cops to the ground, knees in the back and cuffed face down, really? Sorry, I don't see the need, drunk or not. And hopefully there was better reason than "got up in the cops face." Short of actual intentional physical contact, I'm not sure how one can justify a take down.
  5. An Inexcusable, Willful Disregard for the Rules

3 of the 5 you mention are RINOs and g5 wouldn't say anything against his candidate with a gun to his head, and he's the only Republican on this board more conservative than Trump. Twy a GOP guy? While we may and have disagreed many times, I don't for a minute believe he's a Republican. And while you claim allegiance to neither candidate, you obviously want to remain as Republican as your anti-Hillary dialogue outweighs your supposed anti-Trump rhetoric by about 10:1. How "coy" is that for you, Mr, Goldwater?
  6. WTH's going on on Bald Head Island?

Regardless.... how do the words mom, vacation, Bald Head Island, golf cart, beach, kid end up in the same story with... cops, handcuffs, face down, asphalt, arrest, Beach cops typically have a lot better temperament than this. Sorry, but I have my doubts about their side of this story.
  7. An Inexcusable, Willful Disregard for the Rules

    Where and who?
  8. An Inexcusable, Willful Disregard for the Rules

Trump and his supporters calling out Hillary as a liar.... Roget is rewriting their thesaurus as that picture alone is enough to define hypocrisy, pot/kettle, irony, etc.
  9. An Inexcusable, Willful Disregard for the Rules

Snooze..... How convenient of everyone to ignore the findings that Colin Powell did the exact same thing. Guess what. The State Department also stated Condoleeza Rice, her staff, Colin Powell and his staff also mishandled and incorrectly saved, filed and sent classified information via email... http://mediamatters.org/blog/2016/03/07/state-dept-concludes-past-secretaries-of-state/209044 If you honestly believe Hillary is the first and only you are simply ignorant of the facts.
  10. #FEELTHEJOHNSON

2 words: Donald Trump. Hillary is a known commodity. At least, most people seem to think they know everything there is to know about her. I'll take the known commodity before I would even consider voting for someone who can't keep his lies and bullshit straight from one day to the next
  11. NC DMV says Tesla can't sell cars here....

Gee, Rocky Mount is home to one of the largest Tesla charging stations along I-95 and guess what? The State of North Carolina offered up some fairly sizable tax incentives to make sure it got built here. Now this? All this says to me is, "Sure, you can stop here, but we don't want you to stay and spend money or anything."
  12. I think this would be a great idea for a new forum: "Traffic Voyeurism: A Photographic Journey of America's Streets" featuring nothing but pictures of people doing whatever in their cars....
  13. The driving habits of people in this country puts on full display the generally and pervasively shitty attitude that people have with each other. The same people who find it very difficult to just be pleasant, say "Thank you" or "Please" once in a while are the same drivers who cut you off without so much as a glance in the rear view. The guy who gets his cash out of the drive thru ATM and then proceeds to balance his fugging checkbook before driving away is the same guy who will make a right turn from the left lane of a 2-lane road. That guy at the airport who decides he doesn't need to wait in line until "Zone 2 is now ready for boarding" and shoves his way into the front of the line is the same guy who has no idea what a turn signal is for. There is more contempt than compassion in this country.
  14. Yeah... you're right. Back then, people were so pissed off at (insert whoever the media/govt tells you) that it completely blinded all but a few. At the time, I felt like I was the only person begging the question, "Why are we invading Iraq? They had nothing to do with this and it's just Dubya wanting to finish what his Daddy didn't in 1991." Make no bones about it, General Norman Schwarzkopf was stopped from marching all the way to Baghdad during the first Gulf War in much the same way Patton was ordered to a halt in WW2. It took almost 10 years to realize the huge mistake Washington made, just as the US did when Eisenhower stopped Patton from taking Prague, opting instead to let Stalin march in.
  15. I agree totally with your first paragraph. But, with the advent of social media and real time news, there's no way the Manhattan Project happens today. Those 130,000 people were spread all over the damn country, each of those locations building a part or piece of the bigger picture, and no one knew what the others were doing, let alone the grand scheme.
