  1. Davidson Deac II added a post in a topic Harry Giles Watch

Looks like he is going to Oak Hill, for his senior year in High School.  Not sure if this means much in the way of his recruitment, but Oak Hill is probably a good move for him.  The competition will be tougher.

The one in Cherokee is not so bad.  At least from what I have heard.

From what I read in some other thread, state taxes are paid to whichever state a particular game is played in.  Not sure if that is accurate though.  But I imagine that if you own property in Florida, you can have a vehicle registered there.

  5. Davidson Deac II added a post in a topic Does this defense have the potential to be the best Carolina has ever had?

Looked it up, actually it was 71 points.  That being said, you are correct, Atlanta lit us up that year.  We had a hyper aggressive defense in 02 and that played into Vick's hands. But 6 offensive turnovers and a plethora of 3 and outs, sacks, and other offensive miscues contributed to that total.

Fwiw, Fox took a while to figure out defending Vick.  He was injured in 03 so that defense didn't have to face him.  He lit us up in 04, we finally managed to do something with him in 05.

The 02 defense allowed fewer points than the 03 defense, despite a offense that was top 5 in the league in turnovers.  The fact that it performed so well despite getting little or no help from the offense is why I think they are the best.

    Not really.

Best defense ever for the Panthers was the 2002 defense (to bad the offense was horrid that year).  If this defense comes close to that one, we should be in pretty good shape.

  8. Davidson Deac II added an answer to a question Women that don't want kids. Ever.

Agreed.  Its hard enough to raise your own kids, but when you adopt kids that are not infants, and may have been abused or neglected, its infinitely more difficult. One of my coworkers adopted a 12 year old whose parents were both addicts.   It was a noble thing he did, but the kid is putting him and his wife through hell.  Maybe things will work out ok in the end, but still its not an easy path to take.

That being said, I commend anyone who makes the attempt.

  9. Davidson Deac II added a post in a topic Tom Brady destroyed his phone?

My quote was about how long the Service provider maintains text messages.  But the phone itself is a different animal altogether.  Its a computer, and unless he wipes it, its possible in theory to retrieve the text messages.

That being said, there was no way the NFL was going to be able to force him to give up the phone, so it does seem rather pointless to destroy it.  So in essence, you are correct.

But then maybe he was afraid someone might try to steal it.  For all we know, the phone might have evidence of an affair, and if the wife finds out, he gets divorced and loses a few million.  That might actually be worth the risk of a 4 game suspension.

Of the major carriers, only Verizon stores the actual text message, and then only for 3-5 days.  Most of them do retain data regarding who you were texting a lot longer.

  11. Davidson Deac II added a post in a topic what's the maddest you've ever been as a panthers fan?

This. JD had obviously lost it, but Fox refused to do anything.  With even decent quarterbacking that year, we had a team good enough to at least challenge for a wildcard spot, but Fox killed us by keeping Jake in.

I don't see that it really matters if it was him or her.  If its her, he was probably behind it, or tacitly approved.  Or at very least, she was passing on information he gave her.  Regardless, if I were another team, I would be very cautious about giving him a shot, especially irt how much money I am willing to pay.

I am a network engineer, spend most of my working days putting together networks and protecting them from internet and internal hackers, and I have no idea how to use Twitter. On the other hand, my 17 year old son (who probably doesn't know the difference between a Mac address and an IP) can navigate through it with ease while texting his friends at the same time.

Although that might be more due to the language they use than to the site or application itself.

If famous Jameis becomes a competent NFL qback, could be Tampa.
In reality though, the NFL changes so much from one year to the next, could be any of the teams in the NFC South.
