  1. About those corners...

So in your professional football opinion, there have been no good professional talent evaluators in the NFL since the beginning of NFL time since picks have ALWAYS been traded for other draft picks in this league. That is the logical conclusion to what you are saying, right? That heel31ok has discovered the ULTIMATE secret to the NFL Draft Code that *no* other professional football draft evaluator has ever been able to crack?
  2. And likely the Knights of Norman in this thread will be first in line with torches and pitchforks to scourge the rookies.
  3. When a player doesn't fit your system

And even then, after as many things were "adapted" for the offense in order to take advantage of Cam Newton's unique skill-set, Rivera lost us multiple games over the his first 3 years by slipping back to "going by the book" instead of using his new "Cam Newton book".
  4. Unless, like many in this very thread, you're a PLAYER fan and not a TEAM fan. If you look at it from the perspective of Josh Norman Fan then, yes, the behavior would strike them as fairweather.
  5. Are the insults that are hurting your feelings anything like the "bubble wrap" and "put in a box" comments you leveled toward your former coaches, Josh?
  6. About those corners...

I think Conference Champions and teams that go to the SuperBowl tend toward the "golle gee awesome". But that's just me. I guess its others prerogative to think teams like that suck if they want. :P
  7. About those corners...

That's a good point. I will tell you, however, in the 2nd Round discussion thread that I was insane enough to defend that choice. :P (The Raiders used a 1st rounder on Sebastian Janikowski in what? 2000? People were shocked by that pick (and it was a shocking pick). Was he worth that pick in the year 2000? Not even close. Has he made that pick worthwhile over his 16 year NFL career? AB-SO-LUTELY (IMO). I see Aguayo in the same category using the same lens.)
  8. Sorry. Gettlemens Draft This Year Blows

And to assuage your concern you choose to question the guy whose moves have been mostly reliable since he's been here. The strawman this early in your post? Excellllllllllllllllllllllllent. Ponder on the bolded/underlined statement for a moment and tell me what possible conclusion you can draw from it.
  9. Sorry. Gettlemens Draft This Year Blows

What I understand him saying is if the players are graded equally, he'd pick the LB there if the list was in alphabetical order and the LB's name began with an 'A'. Because that would put him #1 on the BPA list and that's the most important factor. :P
  10. Sorry. Gettlemens Draft This Year Blows

    Oh lawd... lol.
  11. When a player doesn't fit your system

The huge (and maybe only) exception to that is Cam.
  12. Sorry. Gettlemens Draft This Year Blows

And there it is. The inevitable straw man. And Cat knocked that sucker down with a vengeance.
  13. Sorry. Gettlemens Draft This Year Blows

Good call being critical of a GM not even 2 years into a job of getting a team out of salary cap hell for winning an NFC South Division championship.
  14. Sorry. Gettlemens Draft This Year Blows

Gettleman's done a helluva job making you doubters look like idiots for 3+ years and 4 NFL drafts now. Nobody on this board has to do it.
  15. Of course its PART of the overall evaluation. Not evaluating the physical side of a prospect would be dumb. But even Gettleman himself in his post-draft press conference used the exact words "the game isn't played in underwear" so, yes, that is still a valid and true thing to say and encapsulates well (as Gettleman pointed out) how a 4.5 guy can stay with a 4.3 guy IN PADS and ON THE FIELD.
