I agree with this but it does fall into the same lines as "you dont let your best WR go". While i think Cam is here for the long haul i would not put something past Gettleman given the right or in this case maybe wrong set of circumstances.

In the case of someone like Peppers, it was time to go.

In Cam's future?I hope not. He's revitalized our fan base and the team since his arrival in 2011. Gettleman would create a lot of hate if he let Cam walk. It's something I couldn't look past if Cam went on to do bigger and better things.

A good QB is handsomely paid (and in many cases overpaid) BECAUSE they are so hard to find.

This is exactly why it would blow up in your face more times than not.

 

History has shown us that drafting a QB is a major crap shoot.  There are as many high pick busts as great QB's. 

 

The theory definitely has merit in a lot of positions (RB, TE, LB, DB)  but for WR, QB, and DE it is too risky.

 

Agree, would add OL to your positions where this could work. Though I might switch DB (CB and S) to the risky positions.
