Nope. I even quit playing fantasy football so I didn't have to cheer for players on other teams. If the Panthers aren't playing, I ain't watchin.

I don't really root for, but kinda wish luck to (when not playing the Panthers) the Buffalo Bills. Because I'm from NY, and they are the only team that plays in the state of NY.

Before the Panthers were around, I didn't root for anyone. Steelers, Redskins, Dallas, Giants, Bills, Bears and Pats fans were all around me. And I got yelled at to once saying "you need to start rooting for a team so we can talk poo to you!!" So, Just so happened the Panthers came into play when that was told to me. So I went with them (to not be a front runner). Been a fan ever since and never swayed!

Same.  My whole family is from Buffalo and they are all Bills fans. I also buy Bills apparel because wearing Panthers gear during the game always makes us lose.

I also believe this is why the Bills have been poor to mediocre the past decade.

Team Steve Smith. Also, I've liked the bears recently. I like Cutler ( I think I am the only one) and Marshall. The defense was decent for a while and they had peppers and Chris Harris who I liked seeing.

Sorry,  I was 10 when we were awarded the franchise, 12 when we played the first game in Death Valley, and 13 when we finally made it to Charlotte.  Since then it has been Panthers or death.

Anyone playing the Niners, Falcons, Saints, Bucs, unless it helps us if any of those teams win. So basically, whoever benefits us with a victory.

It might be weird to ask such a question, but when I talk with my local football fans friends, they claim that they have a second or even third team they root for. I think it's too ridiculous because I don't even think I have enough time to love my only Panthers but they can cheer for three teams at the same time...

So how about the great huddle?

If I'm a life long fan of team x, and move to a city that has team y, and I'd like to support my local team, according to you I'd have to quit pulling for the team I've always liked, or say fug the local team. If you want to love one team and hate all the rest, go right ahead, but don't ask me to join your 'ridiculous club'.

I don't have a backup team but because of my love of college football and the draft I do enjoy taking a peak at some teams that draft some of my favorite players. I'm also a sucker for the underdog so I'd like to see teams like the Bills, Jax and the Brownies rebound and push other teams I do hate like the Pats and Colts. They generally tend to be AFC teams as they create no conflict with the Panthers. I cant think of 1 other NFC team I care for in any way, once a player goes there they become the enemy. I love Jeffery and it makes me cringe every time he scores but in no way can I root for them to win, not unless it somehow benefits the Panthers.

These threads pop up about once every offseason, and the reaction is always the same; people with family/regional ties to other teams, and Panthers jingoists who berate others for having a second team.

Panthers will always be number one for me, but I'll have other teams that I root for week to week, and season to season. I pulled for the Chargers in their twilight Doug Flutie days. I liked the Raiders in the Gradkowski era, and right now, the Ravens are my solid second favorite, given they are geographically close to me, and currently have my all time favorite player on their roster.

Steelers are my back up team, but they're no where near as important as the Panthers.

The only team that comes close for me is the browns, because I have ties to the great city of Cleveland.

Not a second team specifically, but I do like rooting for the underdog year to year. For example, the Chargers this past year. I also cringed knowing we could of had Allen.

I think it's crazy that some here don't watch any other games except for Panther games.  I don't care about any other team other than the Panthers, but I still enjoy watching SNF, MNF, TNF, and 4:00 PM (or 1PM games if the Panthers play at 4 that day) games that the Panthers aren't playing.

I'm a football fan.  I figured most were here as well if they were hardcore enough of a fan to join a football message board.

In the cases I like certain feel good stories for other teams I might pull for 'em to do good that year as long as we aren't playing them.  I also pulled for the Seahawks a little last year, because in a weird way we felt kind of like brothers last season.  I also noticed they stuck up for us and praised us a lot last year, so they had my respect just for that alone.
