Golden State Warriors unanimously decline White House visit

Recommended Posts

“All the tactics that he used to get elected are the very things that someone like me, who works with youth on a consistent basis, are the things that we try to talk our young folks out of being,” Warriors Forward David West said.

“We try to talk our young people out of being bullies. We try to talk our young men out of disrespecting women. We try to talk our young people into being accepting of other people’s opinions and other people’s walks of life. He is the complete opposite of all of that,” West added.

if the Warriors don't want to go to the White House, that's fine, but if you're going to make a statement saying "we need to preach to our young kids to be accepting of other peoples opinions and their walks of life," then by you not attending the White House b/c Trump is 'different,' 'has his own opinions,' and 'comes from his own walk of life.' is you preaching the complete opposite. Don't make a hypocritical contradictory asinine statement and instead try practicing what you preach.

Doesn't really make a difference whatsoever either way whether they attend or not. It's just fodder for social media.

that's not why they didn't attend the WH. you didn't read his quote, you skimmed it and then got outraged at something you made up yourself

lmao wtf are you talking about. The Warriors didn't decline because Trump "comes from his own walk of life," they declined because of the hateful rhetoric he used to get elected. They astutely pointed out Trump's intolerance of people who are historically marginalized as the reason they won't go, which makes sense as the NBA is mostly made up of one of such groups.
