That would be a disaster if it to happen. I don't know why China is doing this, it makes no sense... Maybe they have no faith in our government ability to pay back the money?

The dollar's been on an eight year slide and this is just a recent development.

The reason there are talks of dethroning the dollar is because of its ongoing weakness. In fact you could argue that the only thing that has kept it afloat over the past decade is its status as world reserve currency.

weaker US dollar is bad for me...personally it's great of course, but Canada hurts more when the US dollar is low.

Expect Ben to raise 0.25 soon. Remember I thing I talk about from time to time. Momentum money. Equities have done pretty well the last 6 months. Some are hedging and going to gold and oil etc.
The smart guys are buying Yens and Francs.
In your 401k. Make sure you are at least 10-25% FOREIGN right now. Spread it around.

A weaker dollar does have some advantages. It makes american exports cheaper, and imports more expensive. It makes it more expensive for companies to outsource jobs and cheaper to keep them in the US.

Demand and Supply bud... no body would want those 2 worthless currencies... especially russian, their money can be used as toilet paper.
