What is Wrong With Cam Newton and Will He Fix It In the Playoffs?

It's how we've been since this regime / roster was in place, we are a front runner. This team is not built to score quickly, it's built to get stops, and score SLOWLY.

Rivera ball. Old and outdated.

This team knows that Cam needs to be at his best (or pretty good) to win...

Sometimes, they see a Cam that is not prepared to play...

Sometimes it is self inflicted.

I’ll leave it at that...

yea, most teams need their QBs to be at least pretty good to win unless you have a defense like the Jags who can score multiple touchdowns themselves.

Nope just pesky facts that’s all.  I’m still waiting on you guys to point something out I said to be untrue!! I mean other than NO youre a liar,  I have backed up my arguments you say poor Oline play I say he went 7 for 7 for a TD with that piss poor Oline coaching and WR’s when he was accurate and on time. And your counter argument would be????

im pretty unfamiliar with how contracts work.. if he got cut would that mean the panthers would still have to pay him an enormus sum or could the panthers make a new contract for less money? Because thats the only way we would get him

If he's cut, the contract stays with the Bucs, including all monies...unless there is offset language.

They would save 3.5M by cutting him, but he would cost them 7.5 in dead that can be spread out over 2 seasons.

then that doesnt sound like it wouldve been worth it to cut him unless he had serious behavior issues

I say he is surrounded by QB’s with piss poor accuracy and no Super Bowls and your argument was I’m a troll. And that I intentionally left out his TD’s for a reason. So I look up his Td’s and I’m a troll and the post is banned because y’all went crying to a mod cause it hurt your delicate feelings.  Don’t be mad at me for pointing out that Cam is a mediocre passing QB. Do you think is a coincidence that defenses are stacking the box letting underneath routes run wide open and covering 10 to 20 yard routes?? I don’t and if you do you’re the problem not me!!

I don't have time to dig into their salary cap situation moving forward...but you are correct.  Unless he has locker room issues, I can't imagine them wanting to take away one of Winston's toys when they are trying to figure out if he's the deal or not.

You mean one of our biggest glaring weaknesses to our passing game with a career completion percentage of 58 % hell Elvis Grbac had a higher completion percentage . And he is surrounded by people that played in the 80’s and 90’s that have never won a super bowl except for Fouts who played when my Dad was watching football.   Good god man wake up and atleast admit he is part of the problem in our passing game. And stop making fuging excuses for him!!

I said it in another thread. Think about previous outings in Atlanta. Nakamaru or whatever his name is blowing it to lose the game. Losing the only game of the 15-1 season where everyone looked as weird as Cam did in the last game. Luke even looked terrible. Julio breaking records, and Cam getting his already super loose bell blasted at the goal line. It's kinda spooked there, I believe.

Newton just doesn't have great mechanics, when he throws high- it's going to be a long game. My theory is that he is so gifted that he can have poor fundamentals and still make good throws, as he noted this year that he can overcome coaching. But that flat fastball off his back foot, although hard to intercept, has to be in the right window at the right time to be a catch.

With Olsen's timing off and CAP not having reps- the ATL was especially hard on Newton.  After throwing into double/triple coverage he just started checking down...and I think he just gets frustrated and tried to run it himself. No one looked good in the passing game sunday but Newton is the QB and is responsible.

I used to really get on him about throwing off the back foot and the Huddle was not happy about criticizing his QBR/Pass comp/lack of touch but I think we will see something different in NOLA.

He didn't like being embarrassed and Falcons played a QB run most the game so he couldnt just will a win, so I predict he takes this week and has monster reps with the receivers/RB.  West coast baby...YAC is word...

We can't just throw away these playoff opportunities, and I really believe the entire team will dig and be sharper. There will be no one more excited for Newton is he can complete a couple of short passes in first possession than I. Newton also needs to best the Breaux Bridge Bomber in playoff wins at some point.

Going 0-8 on a nationally television game was god awful and will never happen again. I don't know if we will win next week but Newton will have 300 yards passing.
