On Monday, every member of the Panthers’ roster as well as coach Ron Rivera and owner David Tepper were at the Second Harvest Food Bank in Charlotte, packing food supply boxes for hurricane relief.

..............

Since players can’t get together, for almost any event, without turning it into a competition, that’s what happened at Second Harvest.

Split into two teams, they raced each other to get boxes filled, taped and ready for shipping.

It worked: the Panthers got 1,500 boxes done in 75 minutes, far faster than the two hours that had been allotted.

You never know what might happen down the road, because sports is a funny business. But given the urgent nature of the team sale, and circumstances surrounding it, hard to imagine a much better situation than Tepper.

Like I said, I am pulling for this guy.

Pretty ridiculous to make these guys show up for something like this on their one week off.

It boggles my mind that there are people who have lived in the Carolinas all their lives and are not a fan of this team. From the bottom of my heart I thank these players and everyone who has helped with hurricane relief over the years. Keep Pounding.
