Hawk 2,378 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 There were, and still are all of those, including the Black Panther, which used to be common to see here as well, along with the wolf are all making a comeback thanks to Federal wildlife preservation programs. I mean hell....Wild Turkeys were almost extinct here a few decades ago, and some of the above animals mentioned abover certainly had a toll in that data. Bears, all over the state are more common now with the growth, especially pushing them towards the Eastern Coast. so you recommend the Charlotte Wild Turkeys then? Easy to get a sponsor! SMACKDAB 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 so you recommend the Charlotte Wild Turkeys then? Easy to get a sponsor! Bigfoot's would be good with me as well, or Sasquatches.
SMACKDAB 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 Also, on the Stallion's part of this.....you guys do know, that a Stallion, last for about 10 seconds once penetrating a mare. I would like more "stamina" in a name for my team.....please. Just a lesson in reality. Stallion doesn't mean poo, except about 10 seconds of glory(depending on the reciprocation of horses involved).....and even then it's becomes a crap shoot depending on which hole he hits. Captroop 2,822 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 But...if I had my choice: The Carolina Flight Not going to help out wine and cheese label. Carolina Rebels I like this one a lot. Don't know what the logo or mascott could be, but would be great for spirit. More blue collar to counter the hoity toity image. And can you imagine the whole stadium doing a "rebel yell?" mr beauxjangles 700 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 This conversation is still going on? I thought we reached a consensus on Carolina Fatback. Okay, if it can't be the Fatback, I'd have to say the Carolina Cardinals. Yes, I know, there is already a team that goes by the Cardinals. But it is our state bird and there is some nice alliteration.

Old School80 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 I always thought Tennessee should have been the Copperheads. Have Copper colored helmets with whatever colors looked good with it. That would be my choice. Carolina Copperheads When Tennessee began putting together there team for an official name the other two that were being considered were River Bandits and the Vipers was the other name considered. I am glad they went with Titans its a better name.

panthersphan 365 Report post Posted January 28, 2010 either way...is there an abundance of cougars/mountain lions/panthers in the Carolinas? BLACK Panthers...no...but Mountain Lions (which are Cougars) & Coyotes yes... I've seen both up here around Boone. Actually read an article about a month ago in the Observer about Coyotes in Charlotte suburbs...being driven out from places like Kings Mt, Crowder's Mt, and Hickory...
