Washington (CNN) – Seven in 10 Americans believe that Iran currently has nuclear weapons, according to a new national poll.

Friday's release of the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey comes just hours after Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said the Islamic republic isn't seeking and doesn't believe in pursuing nuclear weapons. Khamenei was responding to a draft United Nations report that said that Iran may be working to develop a nuclear weapon.

The poll indicates that 71 percent of the public says Iran has nuclear weapons, with just over one in four disagreeing. More than six in ten think the U.S. should take economic and diplomatic efforts to get Iran to shut down their nuclear program, with only a quarter calling for immediate military action.

WTF is wrong with this country?

7/10 people believe that Iran already has nukes?

Just goes to show how easily manipulated we Americans are

cnn by the way.

Yes I agree that there has been an article about an impending attack on Iran practically every week since 2001. I've been following them .

If you think it is liberal sites that have been spouting Iran than you are a complete and utter idiot. Total Re'tard.

Sample any week and you will see Iran on the front page of Foxnews more than any other site. Unless of course it is something based in reality then you have to go to the UK.

You are officially a foxnews footsoldier Davidson Deac.

Ok, took about 2 minutes to find.
Still preparing to attack Iran

When it comes to Iran, however, it's far too early to dismiss the hawks. To be sure, they are now plying their trade from outside the corridors of power, but they have more friends inside the Obama camp than most people realize. Several top advisers to Obama -- including Tony Lake, UN Ambassador-designate Susan Rice, Tom Daschle, and Dennis Ross, along with leading Democratic hawks like Richard Holbrooke, close to Vice-President-elect Joe Biden or Secretary of State-designate Hillary Clinton -- have made common cause with war-minded think-tank hawks at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP), the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), and other hardline institutes

Newspeak and the New War in Iran

Cheney manipulating intelligence on Iran

Cheney Lieberman, and the Iran War Conspiracy

Bush administration conducting covert ops in Iran

Its mostly the wingnut sites that are talking about war with Iran, and the Huffington post is only moderately wingnutty, so they have a moderate amount of Iran war articles, mostly done while Bush was in office.

BTW. I don't like Fox news. I haven't been to the foxnews website in months. I challenge you to find one single post where I referenced a fox article as a source for anything. I don't like Huffington post and I don't trust the objectivity of anyone that uses it as a source for serious discussions. I didn't like George Bush. I am ok with Obama so far, although I liked Mccain better.

Here are a few new sources I trust. NPR, Jane's defence, the Economist. Also, the Washington Post is ok, and a few other newspaper websites. Sites such as CNN, MSNBC, and Fox are ok for breaking news, and thats about it.

Well, I could be wrong, but I am not. Just do a google search on US preparing for war with Iran. The sites that come up are salemnews.com, prisonplanet.com, the Klaxon, before its news, etc...

Where did you get that I said that? Many sites that propogate that nonsense are sites that Catofwar or venom might like. The liberal sites don't mention it as much now that Obama is president.
