Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., who also was considered a contender for the open Senate seat, spoke out on behalf of Burris.

"There is a strong constitutional and legal case for his seating," he said. "The longer this process takes the more racialized this seat becomes and the more difficult it becomes for Democrats to hold it in 2010."

I don't know whether Burris's appointment is legal or not, but what the HELL has this got to do with race???

This is all about Gov. Blagojevich being a crooked corrupt politician not about the race of the guy he eventually appointed AFTER all this "seat buying" stuff came out.

Burris should have taken the high road and let it play out instead of trying to force his way in now.
