Mock Panther Draft(no trades):
2-Tyson Alualu-DT-California
I see the Panthers going BPA between WR, DE, and DT with this pick. Clearly Alualu at this spot would be the best player available.
3-Mardy Gilyard-WR-Cincinatti
Since a DE wasn't BPA in the 2nd, I can see us not even drafting one, or waiting till about the 6th or 7th. So, they go WR here, and in my opinion, a steal in Gilyard.
4-A.J. Edds-SAM-Iowa
May not be available here, but is probably the best true SAM backer in this draft class. He will provide some great competition for Dan Connor and James Anderson.
6-Bill Stull-QB-Pittsburgh
To me, a QB shouldn't be drafted since we have Cantwell, but most likely a new QB will be on the Panthers roster this season. I'm not sure the FO has enough confidence in Cantwell for him to be the project QB. Stull, to me, is a steal with this pick. Oh, and he played in a pro-style offense.
6-Bryan McCann-CB-SMU
No, not that Brian McCan. He was the starting CB, and KR at SMU. He wasn't known for his coverage, but he is a ST BEAST. He had 2 blocked kicks RETURNED FOR TD's, 2 forced fumbles, and 808 KR yards. BTW, did I mention he ran a 4.28 40 at his pro day?
6-Emmanuel Sanders-WR-SMU
Another SMU kid. I'm really starting to like this guy. Maybe this won't jinx him, but I see alot of Steve Smith in him. Could also help in the return game. (runs a 4.41 40 yard dash)
7-Josh Hull-ILB-Penn State
Can't get much better than a Penn State linebacker falling to you in the 7th round. He started most of the year with Sean Lee out. The only reason I have 2 LB's in this draft are because 1.Hull is a PSU LB'er, plus since Connor is moving over to SAM, we'll need some depth at ILB.
7-Alonzo Durham-OT-Nevada
This pick makes sense for so many reasons. First, we need depth at LT. We also need some more versatile O-linemen.(He played LT and OG at Nevada) Next Nevada uses the zone-blocking scheme, which is what Jeff Davidson brought here back in 2007.
