VA Panther Fan 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 Per PFT, if the Panthers win tonight, the game with the Giants next week could be moved to Sunday night. "We suspect that Panthers-Giants is a possibility, given that if the Panthers win on Monday night against the Bucs the December 21 showdown could decide the top seed in the NFC field. " Stay tuned; if an announcement isn’t made today, it likely means that the NFL and NBC are pondering Panthers-Giants, and that a Carolina win over Tampa would likely be the last hurdle to overcome in this regard. dksmith17 90 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 From looking at the schedule. The sun night game will be [email protected] This game could have major playoff implications, especially if Denver keeps losing. I doubt this gets moved. But I would love it. Inimicus 2,793 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 Am I the only one who hopes they leave the game as a 1 o'clock kickoff? I hate having to wait until 4:15 for Panthers football and going all day yesterday nearly drove me mad. Having to wait until 8:15 would be like what I imagine water boarding is like. Train 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 The NFL has to announce it at least 12 days in advance, so tommorow is the deadline. I think it gets flexed, win or lose tonight. The Chargers could be eliminated by W16, and the Bucs would have little to play for if they beat us as they would have pretty much clinched a 1st round bye, with a small chance at the #1 seed. dksmith17 90 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 TB would have pretty much clinched a 1st round bye, with a small chance at the #1 seed. But thats why they would flex it (NYG vs. CAR) would determine the #1 overall seed if both win out. We need a carolina win here to flex it IMO.

All due respect to our friend Boltergeist, but I have a hard time seeing that one staying as the Sunday nighter, regardless of what game gets moved there. The Chargers have taken a colossal nose dive this year, and that game looks like a bad matchup. If we win tonight, Panthers-Giants probably makes as much sense as anything, seeing as it could be for the #1 seed in the NFC.
