Why dont we trade either a RB or QB for a vet proven WR? We're rich at both positions and have little else of value in excess of except draft picks. If we picked up a viable wr and got rid of a 3rd or 4th string RB and/or qb we could write our ticket to the NFC championship.

How are we rich at the QB position? We have our top 2 (no way you trade them)...next is Cantwell (a perennial practice squad player) and Pike (noodle arm, 6th rd draft pick, who can't even find the field this preseason).

Who would give a decent WR for either of those?

Bingo MadHatter,like you stated,we have very little to offer in a trade for a compentent WR,plus there is very little (if any)out there that other teams would be willing to part ways with.

Could have had Boldin, we passed, could have had Marshall and we passed. In the coaching staff's eyes the # 2 wr for this year is already on the roster

maybe we could trade goodson or sutton but i would rather wait to see what vet wr gets cut and pick him up then.

a trade could happen, but they won't do it until they've made the final decision on who is gonna be here..and it won't be for players but for future draft picks..we'd only be able to get a number 3 guy at best from someone though..

my bet is a lot of teams would love either goodson or sutton. and if we keep those two we wouldnt need either dwill or j stew. lot of possibilities out there. we need to think about how best to get this team to the championship- I think one of our two starting RBs could be the answer. Whether management has the guts to do it is another matter.

Thats true, but good enough to get even a decent wr? RB's are not valued that high in this league, especially one with no real work done.
