We have 2 Wide Receivers out. If we don't activate him and he sees the field then he was a garbage selection and the FO now believes it too.

Name a WR we have selected under Fox that panned out?

I don't think anyone expected two have our only two veteran receivers go down in the same week. So now AE is going to be thrust into a position where he has to contribute.

The pick was a reach with a projection for future production. You know this just as much as anyone else so don't act like you don't.

I hope he can produce and I believe he will. But time will tell and as they say hindsight is 20/20. You never know how things are going to pan out with injuries and retarded drunk WR's.

truthfully i was hoping for gilyard. edwards only as a 5th rounder...4th at the earliest.

fox isn't a WR guy. sees the passing game as only something to help out the run game that is supposed to be the focus. i don't trust his ability to pick a WR.

It was an awful pick. Plain and simple.

We need DT's, OT's, CB's etc, those positions are well addressed in the 2nd rounds of the draft. Instead we took an athletic QB coming from a D2 school.

Haven't we been over this? Edwards wasn't drafted to be an immediate contributor. Like it or not, he's a project. Why do we keep beating this dead horse? And even if that wasn't the case, how could you call a draft pick a bust after four games in the NFL when nobody else on the offense has made any contributions either?

that's why we need a new staff. this league is now a passing league with a running game to complement it. The run first mentality is long gone, same with his be physical and outplay but be vanilla defense.

Prior to the draft out of your three listed concern areas only DT was considered a legitimate concern. No one expected what has transpired with our OT's to have happened.

Prior to the draft doesn't mean squat since we traded away next years 2nd to select him. It is about long term, not this season.

And for one second are you telling me that RG and possibly C on the O line do not need to be addressed?

Not to mention CB..good lord, Marshall is not under contract, and our nickle back is 5,7.

OL and CB are huge needs for this team, only dwarfed by DT.

It was a horrible choice to trade away future draft picks for "project" players....ala AE and Brown.

Let's not forget the Bears only allow 77 yds a game on the ground. Would be less but the Giants roughed them up. So there's no guarantee that D-Lo and J-Stew will light it up. We need 3 WRs on the field Sunday.

Doesn't "long term" and "project" kind of coincide?

Anyhow, the point is that you only have so many draft choices each year. Some are made to make immediate impacts while others are made for subsequent years. We HAD to address WR this year, it was perceived by many to be the one missing piece to our offense. We did this. We drafted Lafell, Gettis and Guy all players with College WR experience and took a flyer on Edwards as a project.

We drafted some DB's late in the draft like usual and if things don't pan out it will be addressed year to year. So look for CB's to be big on next years board if things continue as they are, along with OL depth.

Your sceaming about immediate needs but at the same time pandering for draft picks for the future. Can't have both. Marshall isn't under contract for next year, but he is for this year. He was here we can draft a replacement next year if we feel the need. You see how this works?

Edwards is our second round pick in the upcoming draft. He can't really be a bust until next season. Especially when you consider the bust that has been this season thus far.
