So who's next? Searching for a Carolina QB

95 posts in this topic

So, Huddle Fans, Luck is gone.

Moving on, who do you like for Carolina QB?

I am honestly conflicted. At one point earlier in the year I wanted to go QB either way in the draft but I have no idea now.

Some of the other QB prospects do look good but nothing like what people thought of luck. Newton, Gabbert, Mallett, and Locker all have huge upside and nice skillsets... but major question marks for each of them.

So, do we stick with what we have, going back to Moore and/or Clausen?

Do we go with a new rookie, and build around them? Could always do this and keep the other two mentioned before, or one of 'em and add a veteran...

Or do we go for a veteran FA who expects to start and let them?

We need to try our best to trade down and take Locker or Newton.

If we can't then i am all for drafting AJ Green and picking up a vet QB for now.

I don't know, but if Pickles starts next year I'm taking a year off from watching football.

honestly I like a lot of what Locker brings I just didn't want him #1. Gabbert is skyrocketing up draft boards, some have him going as high as #5.

Newton with a good showing in the nat'l championship could look like a #1, especially if he does it with his arm and not his legs.

Mallett has a decent game but ultimately I wouldn't draft him anywhere near the top half of the first round.

    • lol so they made Jinder the universal champion? big deal, the b show champion has never been even as prestigious as the intercontinental championship was in the early 90s. the real world champion is being held by a part timer, just like it kind of was in the early 90s whenever hogan was carrying it.
    • What are you waiting for? The final.solution?
    • This reminded me of his speech in Charleston (Boeing?). He talked of punishments for companies that tried to move jobs to other countries. Why hamstring countries so that they can't operate with efficiency and effectiveness. Seems awfully collectivist and anti-capitalist for someone who is touted as a pro-business capitalist. So here, with Carrier, he was applauded for some sort of effort to keep some amount of jobs in America. Yay. Oh wait, that wasn't actually sustainable? Federal Gov't meddling into corporate staffing decisions didn't work out as planned? Color me shocked. I don't think this guy has a clue what he is doing. He has no real ideology and doesn't understand , or care,  how things work or what the consequences to any action or comment will be.  I guess he is just throwing poo against the wall to see what sticks and what will appease his mouth-breathing, isolationist, supporters.
