Well, here's something I didn't know, and I wasn't even looking for it (researching Ray Brown, actually).

Ricky Proehl played one year for the Chicago Bears. It was the 1997 season.

That same season, the Bears gave a former player of theirs his first coaching job, as a defensive quality assistant.

Give you three guesses on the name of that coach :lol:

Also learned that OL Coach John Matsko worked with the Rams during the time Proehl was a receiver there.

Ah man, I thought that would be it for sure!

In all seriousness, it does seem like this staff "fits" with many of them working with one another in some capacity over the years. It should make the bonding process go a bit quicker than a staff pulled purely on resume and no rapport. Good stuff.

Indeed it is :D

Dug further and found Matsko also worked with Proehl while with the Cardinals. And for two years (97-98) he worked for the NY Giants alongside a fellow named John Fox :lol:
