don't press the "INSTALL NOW" button when the inevitable update proposal pops up every time you open the program.

Exactly what version of Itunes was ever good? I hate itunes.
The only reason I continue to use it is its the best way to sync my iPod.

WTF? You can't shuffle the entire library? Thats retarded. Thats ALL I ever do. I guess I'll have to hold out before I install iTunes on my new computer.
Yea I know. Instead of the songs listed from top to bottom alphabetically like it was when it was good, it has this menu of album covers or artists (depending on which option you have selected, i.e. artists, albums, or even genre). At best it's aesthetically pleasing ('cept when you burned a CD there and don't have the album artwork and just get a blank picture with a music note embossed on it) but it works like crap and I hate it.
I can't believe you can't shuffle the entire library anymore. You could still do it when you click into an individual album or artist, THEN you get the list of songs.

all you have to do is go to view > as list. it shows just like the old versions and you can shuffle your library.
