HBO has ordered a pilot for a Sopranos/Rome type run. First leaks of the script are being warmly received. Not sure how this would play out on the screen, but Martin is a former screenwriter, and it shows in the bluntness of his authorship.

I'll take it farther than fantasy and say its the best fiction I've ever read. There's not a whole lot of fantasy to it in the grand schemes of things, and it blends mystery, drama, suspense, shock and awe like no other fiction I've ever read.
I'm not comparing it to the great literary figures in human histories, that's absurd.
But it is definitely the most advanced fiction I've ever read, and not just for anyone.
Unless you can handle 25 title characters spread over 4 books.
Have you read the Reek chapter from 5th book on Amazon yet?
It might be the most disturbing chapter I've read in this series yet.

5th book will hopefully be out this year. Which is about all we can hope for I guess.

I haven't read any of the chapters. I don't like reading ahead.

Plus they've only released the first chapters for a couple of the title characters like Tyrion and Reek.
