I think it's a hangover from the unusually long election season where correspondents got so used to calling him "mr. obama" or the like. At least I hope that's all it is.

Yes its disrespectful. Yes, Faux news is probably the worst offender. However, during the inauguration someone from another network (think it was Ann Curry) kept calling him "Barak" which I found funny...ever hear them say "George" or "Bill" when they were president??
In the 1992 election campaign Bill Clinton never once referred to George Bush as Mr. President or President Bush.

I shall call him Mr. Obama only for a time period of the same length as the "mainstream" media called President Bush, Mr. Bush.
