Washington broke down in the final seconds - they had the ball under the goal with plenty of time for a shot - but couldn't get it in over henson. Then the guard throws up a prayer from across mid-court "trying to get a call". 1/2 second more on the clock probably would not have mattered. As for the goaltend - thats iffy anyway - the shot was definately short and was only a two.
We've all seen numerous games where calls have been missed or bad calls.

So the ball CLEARLY hits the rim, people cry goaltending. Get over yourselves lol. Watch a replay before you rage post a thread showing how ignorant you can be.
Somehow I don't think that giant 'clank' sound came from Henson's finger. But then again, this is another stellar Not Awesomeness thread.

If they ref's dont screw up and put the proper amount of time on the clock maybe they have a chance for a better shot.
Oopsies! Someone didn't listen to the head of officiating explain how the time issue was actually correct!
It's from when the ref blows his whistle, not when the ball hits the floor. It hit at 1.4 or so...the ref blew his whistle at 0.8 I think. The call was correct.

Don't care if it was a two, you still have to call it. Maybe they would have gotten off a 3 had the refs correctly put 1.1 seconds on the clock. The Fix may be in..
Go re-read the NCAA Rules Handbook.
The clock stops when the official blows the whistle, not when the ball lands out of bounds. Dumb rule, but it's the rule nonetheless.

Anywayz, it would have been a 2 anyway and replay CLEARLY shows ball hit rim on final shot
Thread null and void. Nice try Dookies

I agree 100%! That was CLEARLY GOALTENDING on Henson's shot... Should have been on the line for a 3pt play, and not a 2 shot foul...
Yep, and that one was going in...the last shot of the game was clearly short anyway and had no chance of going in. If anything, I was worried that it was a 3, and that Henson was going to tip it in for them.

Doesn't really matter...they missed a clear goal tend in the 1st half (like someone said earlier) and that's 2 more points Carolina should have had.
