Just proves once again that the Shelby Star is more worthy of reading than the Observer in terms of sports section. Decent read with a little fluff.

Again, these losses are good for the long term. SUCKS for the short term, and we can't accept losing; however, it is a valuable learning experience that sometimes "good" isn't good enough and you have to win multiple facets of the game to win ball games consistently. We lost the penalties battle as well as the kicking game (not to mention the big plays battle). These are the major reasons why we lost.

TRD + NJP + TCF posts = more enlightening than the observer

that's how bad the observer is

Defense and the special teams are the big concern with the 2011 Panthers. Those guys are going to have improve a lot if they expect to win games this year and squeak into the playoffs.

What a difference a year makes. Offense was terrible last year. This year it's not. That's what getting a really good QB on your team does. It looks like the Panthers organization is now "QB rich". Cam looks like he's just as good if not better than advertised. It makes the rest of the guys on the offense look good. Some teams like the Dolphins would KILL to get a really good top 5 or top 10 QB. They haven't had one since Marino in the 1990s. They've been through about 15 of them and it looks like Chad Henne isn't "the answer" either. They've had "QB poverty" for a long time now.

Us fans should be glad that Cam is wearing a Panthers jersey instead of us having to play against him. We might be like the Colts for the next 10 years after they drafted Peyton Manning. Rivera & Co. should be congratulated for pulling the trigger on Cam drafting him #1. He's already "earning his keep". No doubt, Cam is a major cap room bargain compared to the Rams QB Sam Bradford who got like a $70 million contract. I'm sure Cam will make up for that later on in his career.

The good times of deep playoff runs and Super Bowls should be coming .... it's just a matter of WHEN. The rest of the Panthers team better upgrade their skills FAST and "get on bandwagon". Cam will help get the Panthers into the playoffs sooner than people think. Cam hates losing and won't ever be confortable with it. He doesn't want to wait until "the stars are all aligned perfectly" in 2013 either. He just wants to win the NEXT game coming up and the rest will take care of itself.

He can't do it all by himself. Cam needs special teams and the defense to do their part. You can't expect Cam to have these 350+ yard games every single week. The other 53 guys on the team need to shine out there and become stars of the team. That's how you get to be as good as teams like the Packers. Aaron Rodgers is damn good, but he's certainly not the only star on the team.

he wont be losing much in his career, but unfortunately, this year he will have to bite the bullets.

Did the article said Cam "yelled" at anyone? I believe the writer said he barely heard Cam...So one will assume that the reporter who tweeted Cam said FU to Olsen, never really heard what Cam said but that isn't stopping folks like urself from going all "Oral Roberts" on Cam and even adding fuel to the fire by not even keeping what u read straight. Who is the one not being to smart? And we wonder how a story gets spun out of control.

And let me spell it out to u since u're to smart to get it. My point of using what Blaine did was to show the extreme difference in treatment of the two QBs by their fans. U know....the over-reacting of folks like urself over Cam's swearing under his breath in a locker-room vs. the Jag fans applauding Blaine's public display of emotions.

As I said, before, many of u folks know why u're behavior towards Cam is the way it is..Trying to rationalize it only makes it more obvious. Even worst is the frequency in which folks like urself is always looking to turn whatever Cam does into a never-ending chastisement of the kid.

Let me spell it out for you since you aren't smart enough to get it. Fans react differently in different situations. To try and compare Panthers fans reacting to Cam supposedly snapping on Olsen to Jags fans reacting to Gabbert yelling at an opposing player after a late hit shows a lack of intelligence on your part. And please show me where I went "Oral Roberts" on Cam

And looking at the parts in bold you are still the one not being too smart

Full disclosure...I'm an Auburn man but try to call them as I see them. I had my doubts about Cam when he came to Auburn but by the Kentucky game I became a believer. I often thought his playful nature and slight goofiness was a sign about not being a true competitor but I was and continue to stand corrected.

There was one particular story out of Auburn that stood out for me about how serious he was about winning and not having a losing attitude. Apparently before the Arkansas game last year Cam was in an elevator with an assistant coach and a couple of younger players. Everyone was chatting at talking and one of the young guys said he didn't think we could beat Arkansas...Cam went from looking at the door to turning around, jaw clenched and cold stared a hole right through the kid. It was said the 20 seconds felt like 20 minutes. The mood went from playful to flat out fearful.

There are a few other stories like this.

that's a dumb thing to say or think when you're playing sports. if you don't think you can beat them then you can't.
