He had an unique combination of political views, and he pissed off both sides of the political spectrum and didn't follow the party line. Thats a good thing.

ugh...Baptists... I can see Hitchens POV and can incorporate my faith into his views on life. Perhaps not on what lies beyond but I agree with him on many points.

I am an agnostic, so I don't really care, but the guy is basically saying he died without christ and is going to hell, and that its sad to die without christ. That is a basic tenet of the Christian faith and anyone who has even a basic understanding of Christianity will understand what he meant. Why point out something that it not a surprise anyway. Its akin to bringing up a democrat endorsing Obama for president.
