If we trade stew (which I'm totally against) do we clear any cap space for another small name FA?

I don't know much about cap hits, but Stewart's still on his rookie contract. I doubt he would clear up a lot of space.

Lol at anyone stopping our Redzone Offense.

Or, offense in general...

Smitty, Gettis, Lafell, Olsen
Williams, Stewart, Tolbert.

Would like to see some OL picked up.

I know it's not a popular opinion, and trust me that I don't want it to happen (I'm as big of a JStew fan as it gets), but picking up Tolbert and trading JStew (and no people, as great as JStew is, he's not getting us a first rounder...I'd say second at best) is a smart business decisions. Stewart is gonna cost a good bit of money. So as a business decision you have to weigh Stew's potential on this team vs the potential return you could get for him (or even replace him with...as in use the money on other players next year [although I'm completely against letting him walk]). Stew is an asset and rebuilding teams have to collect and cash in on all of their assets in order to rebuild to the highest level. Trading Stew would be the smart thing.

With all that said, I have no connections to the front office and no clue if this is what they're thinking. I would love if we could keep JStew. Just saying, as a business decision for a rebuilding team, cashing in on JStew is a smart decision.

Goodson was useless last year and we need help on ST. Tolbert makes since. No need to read trade or anything else into this and as some said the Steelers might out bid us.

Tolbert as a situational RB, while being mostly a fb and st player.....would be a huge upgrade. Do not want to lose stew on the count of our chargerification.

If the steelers outbid us, i wouldn't be upset either.....he would definitely get more carries in pit tho....we will see

Even if we got Tolbert, JStew is the best back we got.It would be a shame to lose his talents.

It takes 1 injury from having nobody if we trade Stew away.... Stew stays and he will get a contract extension that we can afford.

There isn't a whole lot out there at defense, so that's going to have to be addressed in the draft. For that reason alone I would like the signing, Tolbert gives the Panther's another option out of the backfield. He's a good pass catcher and should help out at FB and in short yardage situations. Take some of the pressure and allow Cam to take less hits on goal line dives.

I don't want to lose Stewie, but if we do we sure as hell better get something for him.

Is it realistic that we could let Goodson and Brockel go but still be able to keep Stewy and Dwill?

Assuming that we sign Tolbert.
