Still dont get all the Clausen hate. The guy never had a chance put into the position he was his first year.

I have said before that I think that all the Jimmy hate is uncalled for. He was put in a terrible situation. He has handled it all with a lot of class. I think he has earned some respect for that.

you guys want to keep a handful of great running backs and would never want to trade one, but are so insecure I suppose about Cam, that all you can do is hate on our backup QB and if he does get better, can only think of trading him. No way we can have two good QB's, what are you afraid of? Having good backups at every postion could be critical.

Ok so you want to pass the hate on to Fox? That I dont get. A lot of people dont respect the best coach we have had (hopefully up to 2011). If you want to give Jimmy a pass you have to give Fox one too. Richardson made the choice for us to suck that year. It landed us Cam, so why anyone is upset with anyone is beyond me. I think that whole situation worked out just fine. Sometimes sucking is a neccessary evil. Enduring that 2010 season will be proved to be a very uneven trade off in our favor.

It doesn't matter what anyone here thinks of Jimmy, because our QB corps has been widely noted for their chemistry amongst each other, and he has handled his (deserved) demotion with class and shown a willingness to work hard and improve anyways. Hopefully his experience has helped him get over that entitlement he showed out of college and become a better teammate, and no team can have enough quality backup QBs. Do we ever want a Bears type collapse to our season here if the unthinkable happened?

Yea it would have been the pro bowl game every week.

I like how people say, "Clausen never had a chance to succeed."

Maybe I could understand that for someone like Bradford who was actually successful at college. But Clausen was never very good at Notre Dame, that is why he fell to the 2nd round. The only reason people liked him is because he played in a prostyle offense. But he has a very limited skillset and lacks the ability to get the ball down the field. He basically just threw up jumpers to Floyd and Tate a lot.

Besides, the coaching staff had nothing to do with Clausen making some of the pitiful throws he made in 2010. He threw some absolute floaters. Maybe he can be a decent backup but he will never be a good starter in the NFL. I knew that when he came out. He just lacks the talent.

In my opinion David Carr was worse, at least Jimmy attempted to make the throws; Carr was to scared to even make difficult throws.

I hope Clausen continues to improve and stays here to be Cam's backup. I'd rather have a steady backup who knows the system than some random vet we bring in ever other season.
