I'm excited to see the Ruskies play- they were great in the last Euro's and still have some talent.

Plus, its a chance to see Roman Shirokov from the Russian League play. Among his exploits-

He had been loaned out to Torpedo-ZIL butone day he went to a barbecue with his friends – and did not return for two months. Later, in an attempt to cover his ill-discipline he made up the story about breaking a leg. When the truth was discovered, Shirokov was sent back to the army club – to actually serve in the army rather than play football. He was still training with the reserves but his main duties included digging trenches and painting walls in red and blue, CSKA's club colours.

Russia will either blow up and score like 4 goals or they will suck major ass. They're the most bipolar national team in the world.

That goal had more to do with luck than skill.

Russians had a penalty denied. The rest were makeup calls for that.

I'm rooting for England and Germany. England is managed by Roy Hodgson whom I loved during his Fulham days. My ancestors are German and my father works for a German company so I support them as well. Spain have to be the favorites. The Dutch will also play well.

Michael Ballack is more entertaining on the pitch than the tv set.

The Croats had an epic run through the World Cup in 98 I believe. The great thing about the Euros is everyone can play. It's so difficult to qualify in the most talented footballing continent.

Germany Vs. Portugal is the game I'm most excited for.

I think Germany will take it this year, so much young talent.

I have an odd observation. The Russian name plates are in the Latin Alphabet rather than the Cyrillic. I would be a little upset if the Americans wore Chinese name plates. Should the Russians not feel the same?
