Injuries will be the only thing that will keep this from being a top 10 Defense. Somebody had to say it... It's true

good grief

Please elaborate... By the way, it's kind of funny that you have quoted me in the last 10 quotes on my profile...

Obviously you have a hard on for me or intentionally search for my posts.

Please go ahead... I'll be waiting for your 11 quote in a row... Talk about good grief

I'm so glad Gamble isn't expecting a defensive decline - now THAT would be thread-worthy discussion.

We will have a top 10 defense with a top 5 offense. Superbowl baby.

Top 10...probably not. But I definitely see Top 20.

And that us all that we need if the offense does not regress.

I certainly hope so. I don't think that we'll get back to form this year but I do think that we can be good enough to win. In order to get back to form we will need a penetrating DT, another dominating CB opposite of Gamble and a ball hawking, tackling beast of a S.

Don't feel special, I hadn't noticed until now how many dumb things you say. Homersim runs rampant here and you aren't the only one.

I guess it's nice being so optimistic just for the he'll of it. I'm just cursed being a realist I suppose.

    • I wouldn't say he made him look bad, just expendable (and overpaid).
    • Good let them. Will just allow other good players to drop to us in round 2-4

Sent using the amazing CarolinaHuddle mobile app

    • And this is my problem.  Its not that he can or can't run from the shotgun. The problem is that he never has and you just don't know. Will he have the patience to wait beside the QB with the ball in his belly? And during that time the line is blocking and shifting in front of him. There is no definite "hole" to run to. After the QB finally leaves the ball to him, does he have the read-option vision to find that little crease in the line, plant his foot, and cut through it? Jonathan Stewart does, but Stew played in a spread, shotgun offense in college, so he already knew what he was doing. Can Fournette do that well? The answer at this point, since he's never been asked to, is "maybe". Do you spend the #8 overall pick rolling the dice on "maybe"? At a position that in general is the most short-lived in the NFL? Maybe DG and Rivera do exactly that.  If so, I can understand their gamble and would hope for the best. Fournette is a great talent.
