imo, it is ridiculous to try to predict what King would have said about gay marriage in today's society. all we have to work on is what he actually said, which was supportive of gay rights from what I recall.

Trying to predict what a historical figure would think makes perfect sense when your only argument in the first place is what a god supposedly thinks.

Never understood why those cows were so awful at spelling, but recognized the silent 'k' in know in a few of their promotional signs.

The spicy chicken deluxe just wouldn't taste as delicious without the tears of the disenfranchised homosexuals.

Mike Huckabee Calls for Chick-Fil-A Day

More than 40, 000 people and counting have accepted Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s Facebook invitation to “Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day” on Wednesday, August 1. The Facebook Page for the event, which was created less than 24 hours ago, has attracted an enormous fan base that will prompt people nationwide to indulge in their local Chick Fil-A in support of conservative beliefs on the issue of marriage.

We need to get a bunch of dudes to show up for that in tight, rainbow colored nylon shorts and inappropriate muscle shirts to fill up the ordering lines while blasting Lady Gaga from boom boxes.

Chick-Fil-A Day (Gathering of Christians that Support Bigotry Against a Minority) = 21st Century's Version of a Klan Rally?

Or:

Chick-Fil-A Day =Just another justification for weak willed tasty fried chicken w/pickle lovers to eat their favorite fast food?

You be the judge.

The people of Boston will have to purchase their chicken sandwiches elsewhere: Mayor Thomas M. Menino has sworn that the franchise will have to fight city hall to bring its fast-food empire to Boston after Chick-fil-A’s president, Dan Cathy, said gay marriage is “inviting God’s judgment on our nation.” The Atlanta-based chain is hoping to open a restaurant in a popular tourist spot near the Freedom Trail — a rather ironic choice in Menino’s eyes.

“Chick-fil-A doesn’t belong in Boston,” Menino told the Boston Herald on Thursday. “You can’t have a business in the city of Boston that discriminates against the population. We’re an open city, we’re a city that’s at the forefront of inclusion. That’s the Freedom Trail. That’s where it all started right here. And we’re not going to have a company, Chick-fil-A or whatever the hell the name is, on our Freedom Trail.”

A Klan rally?

Today’s statement on the the Chick-fil-a Facebook page takes the exact opposite view. The company now claims:

The Chick-fil-A culture and service tradition in our restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect – regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender. We will continue this tradition in the over 1,600 Restaurants run by independent Owner/Operators. Going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena.

The Chick-fil-A corporation has long funded anti-gay organizations. According to an Equality Matters analysis of public records, in 2010 the company’s foundation distributed nearly $2 million to anti-LGBT groups including the Marriage & Family Foundation, the Family Research Council, and Exodus International — and millions more in previous years. But this past March, when Northeastern University rejected a proposed contract to bring a Chick-fil-A restaurant on campus, a Cathy bizarrely claimed that the company had “no political agenda.” He said in a media statement “we are not anti-anybody and Chick-fil-A have [sic] no agenda, policy or position against anyone as some reports continue to represent.”

Chick-fil-A is one of a very small number of major national companies that refuses to offer any employment protections to LGBT employees. In fact, the company received a 0 rating from the Human Rights Campaign and has a record of firing employees it believes engage in “sinful” behavior. This is hardly a tradition of treating everyone “with honor, dignity, and respect.”

Either the company is once again trying to conceal its anti-LGBT activism or Cathy’s intention to “stay the course” lasted just three days.

This was my point from the beginning that businesses should stay the hell out of poo like this and just serve the public.
