Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter

As @mortreport is reporting, an agreement between NFL and NFLRA is at hand and both sides will work to have officials working this weekend.

Only a matter of time until we start bitching about the real refs!

Good news.

Now fans can complain about blown calls and disputed rulings made by officials they're familiar with.

I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet. We had a moment like this with the player lockout where the deal was "almost done" and then talks went south.

LOL So the Huddle will have a different set of refs to complain about whenever they do come back. At least Austin retired.

Yeah they say "progress," but it also says this:

An agreement in principle is at hand, according to one source familiar to talks, although NFL owners have postured with a "no more compromise" stance.

Sounds imminent. But, we did hear this a lot with the players lockout as well.

I just hope they have to work under the exact same level of scrutiny.

Not to say the current refs have been peerless, but I hope that the "regular" guys have to live up to the very high bar that's been set in their absence.
