When asked if team is evaluating free safety position, Rivera said team is evaluating all positions. "Still too early to consider changes"

Rivera says Sherrod Martin will get more reps at FS during practice this week. Told media Sherrod had a great camp.

Either he's really dumb, or this is eerily similar to his comments regarding Joe Adams' standing last week.

He said the exact same thing regarding Joe Adams last week. I expect Nakamura to see lots of pine this week.

There is no way in hell that Nakamura starts next week. No way in hell.

Rivera said he'd prefer to be 6 games back of the division leader before he decides to change, 3 is not enough.

Maybe he doesn't want to scapegoat Nak because he acknowledges that the fail is on him and his staff moreso than the players.

I am inclined to think this is true.

Coaches would rather not appear impulsive in the media. Rivera made his decision to bench Naka on Sunday night. No need to tell everyone about it.

Does anyone else think Rivera puts too long a leash on some of these guys? He wants to be a players coach and let them play through their screwups, which is fine, but when you have a horrid first half, and then a horrid 3rd quarter, maybe it's just not your day and you should put in a fresh pair of legs.

If he hadn't already benched Adams after saying pretty much the same exact thing last week, I'd worry.

Pretty sure we get to see if Martin has improved next week.
