I agree. Picking up that yard and sealing that win would of been a huge confidence boost for Cam and this offense. Rivera should of called a time out right before the play clock expired and Atlanta didn't jump. He should of told Cam and the offense to finish this drive. Instead he punted it away putting faith in the defense to do the unthinkable. Hold on to a lead with less then 2 minutes left in the game.

Much better annunciation in his quotes than oh wee mayne. That said, I agree this may not have been the best thing to say to the media. I get the feeling from this that the players are seriously dejected.

People thinking Rivera will be fired if we don't make the playoffs this season aren't thinking at all. Most pundits didn't have us pegged for the playoffs - improvement, sure, but still a year away. Rivera will get the chance to finish out his contract. I too have been puzzled by some of his clock management and coaching decisions, but you have to remember, just like Cam is growing into a better QB, Rivera will need time to grow into a better HC.
