McDumbnutz Comments on Loss to Bears

I'm not sure why people keep saying the Bears won. If they scored any points, I didn't see them.

Should've, could've, wasn't. We played the same soft zone bullshit the entire 4th quarter and they killed us with the same quick slants all 4th quarter. Why go away from what got you in a position to potentially win the game? The biggest reason why our pass rush was rendered ineffective was because those same quick slants were wide ass open every time. The ball was gone as soon as Cutler completed his drop.

Like I said, with that defensive performance.....that last Bears drive usually a garbage time drive.

To win the game, the team was essentially asked to go on the road and hold a team to 100+ total yards.....comical.

Hester beat us. That lame special teams play all day gave them field postion....countered our D to heavily slant the game in our favor for an easy win.

They started their final drive right around their own 20. The D played great until we went soft in the 4th quarter.

hmmm. they were running plenty of short stuff all day. i don't think they really did make any serious adjustments other than maybe executing a little better. the real problem is that WE adjusted in exactly the wrong way, on that final drive.

“I just play the defense they call, but you gotta switch it up,” Munnerlyn said. “I felt like [bears quarterback]

Jay Cutler, he knew what we were in. So he knew the weakness of the defense and they attacked it.”

According to Cutler, that’s exactly what happened.

“They were playing one coverage, and we just kept hitting them and hitting them and hitting them,” Cutler said. “That’s pretty much it.”

McD is blaming the pathetic O

-and rightfully so

Riv is telling us that his corners cannot cover and he has to allow them cushion

-he is correct as well

Some of you really are seeing absolutely nothing but red.

A key play was the 3rd and 8 after the Nortman's choke 6 yard punt. When the back goes in motion, TD was left to cover Marshall allowing a first down with tons of pressure on Cutler.

Not sure how, but I wouldn't have had a LB on Marshall in that situation - he's definitely the primary. Maybe should have had another DB in the game, but would have loved to have had Norman on Marshall on that play if we're in man. My thought is that we should have audibled to a zone coverage instead. But that's up to the players, not McDermott.

    • Pretty much. If you have a realistic understanding of what a backup quarterback is, then yeah, Anderson's fine. If you're one of those ridiculous people who thinks every team is three deep with starting quality talent except us, then you're probably not gonna be satisfied anyway.
    • Once again I said their secondary had better talent and by the numbers I proved it. You tried to pull in run stats and sacks in a vain attempt to find something to be right about. You should instead have focused on why he played poorly because as I pointed out it wasn't his ability so much as the system and the.lack of leadership like he had here with the coaches and players like Thomas Davis reigning him in. Since you clearly don't or are unable to discuss this in an adult fashion I will withdraw. Perhaps we can discuss other issues in the future if you can change your dialogue to a discussion of the facts instead of a mismash of convoluted logic and snarky comments.
