A lot of people sees the need for a future star receiver next year like I do. I dont want to say it, but the 2013 imo, looks to be the best to come out in a long while. 2011 had both Green and Jones, but this 2013 class is loaded, I mean loaded with more than one or two top receivers. I can see all of the high projected WRs in next year draft class on to have successful careers.I just wanted to do a quick comparison of the Top few receivers to who they reminds me of when looking at their games.

Keenan Allen California, Jr. (6'3" 210lbs)
Comparison: "Maybe" Andre Johnson or "maybe" Jordy Nelson
Projected round: 1

Justin Hunter Tennesse, Jr. (6'4" 200lbs)
Comparion: Randy Moss/AJ Green
Projected round: 1

Robert Woods USC, Jr. (6'1" 190lbs)
Comparison: Dez Bryant
Projected round: 1

Terrance Williams Baylor, rSr. (6'2" 205lbs)
Comparison: Quicker Hakeem Nicks who can stretch the field more.
Projected round: 1-2

Cordarrelle Patterson Tennesse, Jr. (6'3" 205lbs)
Comparison: A Faster Dwayne Bowe
Projected round: 1-2

Da'Rick Rogers Tennesse Tech, Jr. (6'3" 206lbs)
Comparison: Julio Jones
Projected round: 2

Quinton Patton Louisiana Tech, rSr. (6'2" 195lbs)
Comparison: Mike Wallace, though for whatever reason I keep telling myself that I'm seeing some of 89 in him.
Projected round: 2-3

"I feel like (Quinton Patton) from Louisiana Tech is the best receiver I've played against since I've been here. I've gone against some good ones in the SEC, too, but he's probably the most complete."

There are others besides these also. Conner Vernon, Stedman Bailey, Marquess Wilson, Marcus Davis, Aaron Dobson.. I mean the list goes on. No excuses to not come away with a good WR. I'm guessing we use our 2nd rounder on WR.

Yea I really hope so. I really think that all of them will be either no.1 one day or really solid receivers in the NFL.

But lets face it, we really need to address DT and FS in the first two rounds so I really hope that our new GM has some balls to make a huge trade to get back into the 2nd to take whoever falls to the 2nd (Twill? Patterson? Rogers, Austin, Hopkins, or Patton).

I like Bailey, Dobson, and Mellette from Elon. Im sure These guys should still be in the fourth. Id rather us take Star or Hankins (BPA) if we get a chance to in the first and we really need to take a FS in the second. I rather a FS than a WR (2nd) bc theres a big drop off after the 2nd round into the third or later for Safety.

Favorites in the second are Da'Rick Rogers, Cobi Hamilton, Hopkins, and Patton. Don't think Terrance Williams will be there, though it could happen.

Nice thread. Agree we need a potential #1 WR from this deep draft class.

I wish I could evaluate talent at WR.I knew Megatron was a legit number 1 and Green but maybe with the exception of a couple of guys that look alright it hard for me to see that legit number 1 receiver.Hunter or Allen I suppose.

Allen, Hunter, Woods and Williams go in the 1st round i think.but Patterson, Rogers, Hopkins, and Patton could be there looking at us in the 2nd.i left Austin off because we have enough Little WRs.

Lol at the comparisons! If the WR is that talented it should be pegged as best WR draft class EVER!

I hope you do know that no one is saying they're going to be who they were compared to in the next level. Alot of experts, scouts and online sources sees a similar comparison in them with me when we look at them.

Every prospect is compared to a NFL player. If not, then who should we compare them to? Did u not remember how many experts compared Kellen Moore to Drew Bress this early year? No one said he's going to be Drew Brees did they? They just said when they look at the tape, attributes and how they play the game, it's similar.

I really think a team like Seattle could jump on Patterson in the first. The kid is fast and can play the game. I just hope that we could solve all three needs (DT, FS, and WR) in with early rounds talents. No matter if we have to trade back into the 2nd.

We need Justin Hunter
Too inconsistent. If we're taking a WR in the first this year it should be Keenan Allen, or Robert Woods. I lean towards Allen because of size, but Woods is way more elusive, and has faster straight line speed....

I am thinking WR in the first and FS in the second may be a good way to go with our defensive line beasting lately. As someone that does not watch a lot of college ball, I found this article helpful in giving a brief overview of the top WRs in the upcoming draft:

http://www.sbnation.com/nfl-mock-draft/2012/11/2/3588968/keenan-allen-injury-2013-nfl-draft-wide-receiver-rankings

"Right now, it's a three horse race to be the first wide receiver off the board. Assuming all three of these guys declare, Allen still looks like the best bet to come off the board first. He'll have to check out medically, but each of these receivers has dealt with injuries, so Allen is not alone."

they guy is just electric.UT puts him in the backfield in the I formation just to get his hands on the ball.you are right he will probably go in the 1st after the process and runs a 4.4. i would also address the FS in FA, i think we could pry Jarius Byrd from the bills.

Yea, I like Hunter a lot and wouldnt mind taking him at all bc the ceiling is high on him like everyone else but he tends to drop balls often. Look at the highlight I posted up on him vs. State. He had a good game but dropped too many balls.

If we really need a WR, I'll wait till the 2nd and hope that a Patterson or Rogers is there. Take a Star in the first instead. Patterson IMO is a beast. The dude is huge, fast and a playmaker.

Yea Patterson is pretty special.

I have thought about Byrd through FA but I don't see the Bills letting him walk. They're very weak back there and the smartest move for them is to keep him. Event though, if he is available in FA I think we won't be able to afford him. He'll be asking for too much bc his stats back him up. The thing is I rather go FS in the 2nd round then taking a chance through FA bc our FO has proved that they like below average to average players (Nakamura). We won't be going after a Byrd but instead another scrub. Id be happy if we could get Glover Quinn. I think he's an upcoming FA though he's a SS.

Good point about our Dline. Since they have been playin solid so far, I wouldn't mind going WR and FS before a DT. Though if Star or Hankins is there, I would not and we would be stupid to pass up on one of them.

this team needs to pay for a guy like Byrd, money well spent.the new GM will want to put his stamp on this team,so expect at least one big signing.
