Only a Carolina fan would defend a 3rd year 2nd rd WR who has 2 career catches. Mind-boggling. I'm sure he is a great guy, & he is a legend at App St, but he has no business being in the NFL.

As a WCU alum, I have hated on AE a million times on this forum (gee I wonder why). Today, given the chance, I would shake that man's hand and tell him, "Good job". That was one helluva play. Good for AE. I hope it continues.

great catch and good for him. i hope it's the beginning of a lot more from him....but, still mind boggling why he has a spot on the roster. i hope he does a whole lot more than that to justify keeping him.

2 career catches after 3 years? yowza.

glad to see him contribute. i never understood the hate for the guy

I think what upset most people was what we gave up in the draft to obtain him and the amount that he has contributed.

I agree with you though, it's not his fault Hurney made that deal.

Going off what he has done since being drafted, he is still a bust. However, I'm happy for him, hopefully he can keep making plays like that to show the new GM he should be kept around.

It seems like 90% of a player's success comes from confidence.

Yeah, he was open from a busted coverage. But maybe this play will be the springboard he needs to play more confidently at receiver. I sure hope so. You can't have too many good receivers.

Good for AE, a humble team player. I do believe we gave up too much for him but he is also underutilized. Give the guy more snaps, we don't have much to lose by doing so. I could see him as a Julien Endelman, Andrew Hawkins type if he picks it up on another team.

glad to see him contribute. i never understood the hate for the guy

He is polarizing because the App faithful continue to over hype what little he has done at the pro level. If the guy could consistently help our team, he would be activated and contributing weekly. It's clear that this team has a lot of holes that have yet to be solified so the opportunity is there but none of our guys (AE, Pilares, Joe Adams, Louis Murphy) are seizing the job. As soon as AE does anything to help, App fans respond with a wave of optimism lobbying that AE is the key to the superbowl. Today's catch was a blown coverage agianst one of the NFLs worst pass defenses! AE supporters claiim he is such a shifty athlete, the guy ran straight down the field and never made an attempt to cut back inside to elude the only defender between he and the endzone!!!

Give him time! Let the guy develop into a WR, PR, KR or whatever the goal is to make him! If he were ready to be full time contributor that could help the Panthers HE WOULD BE PLAYING!!!

Most fans neither love or hate AE, its the constant hype being generated for absolutely nothing that drives ppl crazy...

I guess. I fall into those bastard app homers... Ive never gushed about him as a pro but I just defended him in the countless armanti sucks threads. Ive only said that our FO got played by the patriots and its not his fault. Fox hated the pick and he never saw the field. Its always said that he works hard in practice and during the offseason. Its obvious that noone would succeed as a PR when u have noone there to block. I.E. adams and munnerlyn. Just cheer for our team and all of our players and hope they all succeed no matter how we got them
