a lil something i found on him
- He has good size and strength
- He has good speed.
- He has reliable hands.
- He has great acceleration/reaches top speed quickly.
- He is willing to block on the edge.
- He can make defenders miss in space.
- He is smooth in and out of routes.
- He has very good body control.
- He is able to catch ball then he turns up field immediately.
- He shows the quickness and agility to be effective against press coverage
- He can stretch the field.
- He is a threat to make a play after the catch.

Each year, I get enamored with a player to the point that is almost unhealthy. The Panthers never pick that player for me. This year, that player is "General Patton". Come on Panthers, break the cycle one time!

As I look at more tape on Patton I think he is the 2nd best pure WR in this draft. I like his route running and hands a lot. My only question is size and speed which we will find out at the combine. But right now I only have him behind Justin Hunter.
Well this thread has done nothing to quell my obsession for Patton. 2nd best is not too shabby. Will he last till our second round pick?

Depends on his measurements at the combine. His film is really good so he can only rise from here.

Hah, you're of the same opinion as me on this. The way I look at it, the two most important things to look at for a WR prospect are the ability to hand catch and the ability to separate. Only two WRs look great to me in both these categories: Hunter and Patton.

That's what I've been saying. Everybody loves Patterson for his freak athletisim but don't look at how he catches the ball and how he's running his routes. When you look at Patton's and Hunter film you can see the separation from good route running and how they pluck balls a out the air with little effort. That what makes a WR.
