Wow- Major props to Smitty

Call me crazy but I think JR will trade Smitty to a championship contender next year just out of respect for what he did for the franchise.

I don't think you are crazy because that is a very reasonable assumption. However, Steve is a family oriented man now. He'd rather retire before either uprooting his family or spending the better part of a year away from them.

You are all fools. I started this damn thread so we can appreciate one of our greats and the only thing you guys do is call each other names..

I guess this is what happens when our team is 2-8.

It's just the huddle.

I really hope he gets a ring.

After this season when Randy Moss and Tony G. retire. Steve Smith will be second in the league for receiving yards...only behind Reggie Wayne.

Quite a feat with subpar QB's IMO.

Him and Wayne came the same year- I am truly convinced that if our boy Smitty would have 15k by now if he had a Manning or Brady.

He's my favorite player, I don't think he will anymore, but I want him to get a ring even if with another team (not NFCs).

That's pretty cool! He is my favorite panther of all time. The fire he plays with is just amazing. We will get this team back into the post season so he can show out again

I don't think he's going anywhere either for exactly those reasons. But part of me wishes he hadn't wasted the the twilight of his prime with this team. Smith with Brady or Manning, I think, could have been historic.

I rather call you something else. But I'll get banned. I'm debating whether or not to call you this simply because it's been noted and Smith himself has said it many times before. He will not go to another team. He'll retire before any of that happens. I may just call you that name...fug it. I'm rarely on anymore.

You're an idiot. (Sorry Zod. I'll take my banning like a man.)

God bless your little soul.

No, both of you are absolutely wrong.

Smith openy said he isn't going anywhere, he said he's retiring a panther, he said that we are stuck with him. If JR really didn't want Smith here for some reason, smith would just retire.

That fact that some of you 'fans' don't know this by now is sickening. And the fact you want him traded makes me even sicker.

Learn the facts before you say stuff, I can not stand dumb fans anymore.

Listen to your self. Denial is the key word that pops to mind when I read this.

    • Scouting report: A player who arguably all season long was the best offensive threat in college basketball sits around the later top ten in almost all draft boards. Monk is easily compared to Jamal Crawford because of his aggressive shooting combined with the ability to score from anywhere. Monk shot a near 40 percent from three while shooting 82 percent from the free throw line in his first year at Kentucky. Monk averaged an SEC second best 19.8 points per game. Monk has a shooting skillset that is needed in the NBA but is hard to find. He has that unconscious shooting stroke which can be Curry like at times. What intrigues scouts the most about Monk is that he is not just a shooter, he plays above the rim and he can guard either the one or the two. Although Monk showed off his high-flying display all year long at Kentucky, it was his defense that stood out the most. His run and gun mentality allows him to jump passing lanes and play in your face defense on almost every possession forcing turnovers and fast break opportunities quite frequently. Monk is a dangerous transition guard who can score in a flurry. With the way that the NBA is going regarding athletic three point shooting guards, Monk would fit well with virtually every team in the NBA and could be used in multiple different lineups. Even though he is a shooter, Monk has the capability of running an offense and getting his teammates open.
