You are hired as the interim GM.

JR comes to you and says "Cut 6 current starters tomorrow".

Assume we can replace those starters with average starters in this league, who do you cut? What positions would be the biggest upgrade to just average?

My list...

Fua
Hangman
Gary Turnstyle Williams
Nak
Munnerlyn
Armanti

Not bad, but I think the Cap'n has earned his keep this year. My 6:

Fua
Nakamura
Hangartner
Williams
Armanti
Anderson

I like James Anderson and don't mind him staying, but for purposes of this exercise he would go. Jason Phillips played fairly well in relief against KC, and I can't remember the last time James made a play. Also, with Kuechly at the Mike, James has become an.expensive 2-down LB. For his contract, I would look for either bigger production or go cheaper.

I dont think armanti counts as a starter, unless we are talking KR.

One could also gamble on a healthy Davis , Keek, Beason trio next year.

I mean i guess if you include the 3rd receiver but i would say the 5 down lineman, olsen, smitty, lafell, cam, stew, and tolbert would be my view as the "starters"
