Seriously doubt that happens.

Might wait on doing the McCloughan and Kokinis profiles. Wanna see a better indication that they might actually be candidates (mention of them was a long while back and may have been speculative; neither's been mentioned all that recently).

If another name comes up, I may just replace the placeholders I had for those guys with the new guy.

In his Monday presser, Ron Rivera indicated that the GM search has officially begun today,

They can't talk to Gamble or DeCosta yet, but Ross, Gettleman and Clinkscales are all available.

Rod Graves fired in Arizona per Jay Glazer.

Jason LaCanfora reporting Steve Keim will take over.

Cross him off the list.

Jets and Jags have requested interviews with Gamble. Think those rules are only for coaches.

They've asked permission. Not sure when they can actually interview.

Over the past few years though, the NFL has allowed some interviews in off weeks, so it's possible.

Gamble's association with Bill Polian makes me question how realistic a possibility he is for us.

Here's a name to think about.

Mike Tannenbaum.

Not as a GM, but as a salary cap specialist. Conventional wisdom is that he was good at that part of the job (aside from the Sanchez contract) but not so good as a personnel man .

If the team in the playoffs has a bye week, then interviews can be conducted during that week only.

I dont know why we wouldnt want Mike Ross more than Gettleman. He is director of college scouting and the draft. This teams philosophy is to build threw the draft and not go after free agents. Drafting is one thing we need to get better at if we are ever gonna compete consistently. Cant just keep hitting on only first and second rounders and i think we have one of the worst scouting departments in the league. I think Ross just fits us better.

Jets, Jags and Chargers have all asked for permission to speak to Tom Gamble.

No word that the Panthers have.

hell, if he can fill his team with talent and manage the cap so well he has an extra 20 million guaranteed to waste on mark sanchez then I'm all for him coming here to work the contract numbers
