Voth: Rivera is Staying

Recommended Posts

Glad I didn't read the 15 pages of most everyone fussing and complaining...

This time next year, everyone will be feeling really dumb when we win the division and have a first round bye.

you say this poo every year

Because he's wearing a suit?

Adult jobs require adult attire.

It's not just the suit lol (I know, I wear a suit for work everyday myself, shock and awe). That pic just makes it seem like he has "the look" (moreso than Hurney ever did). Was just making an off-hand comment anyway, nothings serious.

But really, even though Rivera is one of our bad coaches, he's not the worse. Chud is. If he's gone, I'll be more optimistic about next season. But as long as he's here, don't expect playoffs next season. From what I read from another thread on here, It seems very likely that even though we will upgrade the oline, that will mean that Chud might try the read option as a base again since he'll think he finally has the line to do it with.

But when has experience EVER made a HC successful? Look at Romeo Crennel, Mangini, Nolan, Singletary, etc. HC unlike players don't get better with experience. The good ones win out the gate, or maximum after their first season.

You're right, but I would be willing to say Rivera did better this year than his rookie HC year.

Just like Fox and Hurney. Oh wait.

Richardson's just buying additional scapegoats so people won't see his failure.

Rivera/Beane may be different from Fox/Hurney. Fox didnt produce with his ass on fire.. maybe because he knew he could easily find a job elsewhere..

I feel like Rivera felt secure with his job at first, believing its a process and he cant rush it. He got woken up with the hurney firing and he knows this is his only shot in a while at head coaching. He felt that fire and he has produced since. just speculation, but id like to see what Rivera could do starting the season on the hot seat.
