Here is the issue. The split in the right vs left has polarized the nation. They are split.

What Obama proposes is not that far out in left field, but, the way he proposes it is the troubling thing. If Joe Biden had actually had meetings with the idea of bringing groups together to solve a problem, it would have been great. But, they have chosen to further divide the country, which is by the way how they got re elected, and just totally attempt to bypass Congress by doing it all themselves.

As I posted weeks back, the best thing would have been to get a moderate Repub and conservative Dem together to make recommendations. These guys could have proposed things while keeping in mind sensativities to gun ownership, doctor/patient relationships, freedom of speech with the gaming industry, and so forth.

When Obamas team thumb their nose at the process, leaving your represtation out of the proess, then it feels like and un American process. This just causes further division and lack of trust. The whole, surround yourself with kids, proposals are just high drama and a poke in the eye. Very divisive move.
