Whatever happened to just punching somebody in the face? I'm not saying violence is the answer, but people are punks nowadays.

Yes the Falcon fan punched him. But the 49ers fan used a knife and stabbed him. The guy who did the punching will face assault charges. While the guy using the knife will face assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder. That guy with the knife will face prison time. Any where from 10+ years. That guy just screwed his own life up over a stupid game. LOL While the guy doing the punching will just get with a stab womb and 100 hours of communtiy service. People need to learn to walk away or at least fight back with your fist and not a stupid weapon. To many people out here to day are pussies. Got to grab a knife becaue they can't take an ass kicking. LOLYeah, but from what I get the 49er fan was provoked.

Still doesn't matter. The guy with the knife will face prison time any way. The other guy didn't use a weapon. Unless you consider that guy fists a weapon. LOL But other then that the guy with the knife made a stupid move on his part. Now he will most likely get prison time for trying to kill the guy.More than provoked, he was attacked. It says it right in the article you posted.

I am going to go to that game for sure, already saving for tickets...... Since I live in San Jose it is only a short drive to get there.... But I got a few 49er buddies that I am going with so I will be okay......

you're a fan of an away team that just humiliated the home team surrounded by pissed off and drunk homers and one of them punches you....what are the chances that only one of them comes at you? what's going to happen if you just punch back? if you aren't 100% certain that this guy is the only one coming at you and that he's not out to seriously harm you, then you do what you can to stop him and make any other angry drunk guys second guess coming at you.Sad that this happens to anyone. Sad that I will have to worry about something like that happening when I take my son to a game.

In high school some wannabe gangsters tried to jump us after an Eminem concert....pretty much the same outcome. People in Atlanta are some dumb ass motherfugers.

This may be true, but people need to realize that if you punch someone in the face at a football game, you don't get to decide how far it goes. You can't punch someone and say hey, this is gonna be a one on one fistfight only.
As a diehard panthers fan that only gets to watch the team in some of the most hostile enemy territories in the NFL, I can say that I would be capable of doing the same thing. If someone punches me at a 49ers game, I won't have the time to assess the situation to see if its one guy alone, if its multiple people and I'm gonna get jumped, or if I'm going to get assaulted with a deadly weapon. I'm going to take any physical violence directed at me as an immediate and real threat to my life and act accordingly.
