Super Bowl: American Tradition, American... Holiday?

WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:

Declare the Monday following the Super Bowl a national holiday.

In 2012, an estimated 111 million American citizens watched the Super Bowl, making it the most-viewed television broadcast in history and one of the largest location-independent gatherings of American people to date.

We at 4for4.com Fantasy Football petition the Obama Administration to consider declaring the Monday following Super Bowl Sunday a national holiday. By doing so, the Obama Administration can promote camaraderie among the American people, keep the streets safer for our children on Sunday night and Monday morning, promote a productive workplace when work resumes on Tuesday, and honor the most popular event in modern American culture.

Come on Huddle of America, let's get this poo recognized and passed!

I mean... if a friggin' petition to build a Death Star can generate the required signatures surely one about the Super Bowl given the correct exposure can, right? Only difference is the White House might actually take this one seriously.

This idea comes up on an annual basis.

I support it, but I don't see it ever happening.

if you need the day off............take a personal day. I've done it before and will again this year.

we don't need anymore "Federal Holidays".

On a side note, why is ESPN calling it the National Football League Championship rather than the Super Bowl?

I don't know. My guesses would be corporate bullshit, immediately followed by the entire channels' obsession with saying "National. Football. League." instead of NFL.

    • To be fair...he does live in Canada. So he pretty much has to bandwagon all his teams except hockey.
    • Won't be impeached.   Would've won anyways if it were by popular vote. His team would've approached the campaigning much differently if that was the way it worked. But that's not, and they did what they needed to win the electoral college.   Do what grown ups did after Obama won twice, and suck it up. I wasn't happy either time but I wasn't crying about it saying oh when will he be impeached blah blah blah. Yes many on the right side did do that, don't agree with them doing it either.  And I don't like Trump much either, he was very low on my list of candidates. My candidates lost to him too. Don't see me crying and whining and hoping he gets impeached so that Pence could take over (I'd much much rather have Pence as President).
    • Damn, 4 years eh? That's more embarrassing than anything. I'll root for Duke but definitely don't lose sleep over it or anything. If I watch I'm just watching to watch, nothing more. I didn't even bother to stay up to watch the South Carolina game. If it wasn't for Z being a Heels fan I probably wouldn't have even turned that ACC final game on either ha
