those rules are set by the NBA, NFL, etc.. not the NCAA...

I would think that since a cap is the way to achieve parity, allowing teams to essentially buy or trade for more cap space would undercut teams who either don't want to spend the money or feel they can't spend it due to financial issues.

Only exception I would see to this would be in a situation that a player is traded the team he is traded to can agree to take the cap hit on the prorated bonus money.

We send a team a player valued at say 3mil. They send us 3mil in cap space. They break even while we net 6mil in cap space. Sounds easy enough to me.
