Who here has had one or needs to get one and is putting it off?

I have this box kit and have to work tomorrow scared to take that pill while I'm at work would hate to shat all over the work place ,,,It says take the pill then after the 1st bowel movement start drinking the liquid. if I dont shat in 6 hours start drinking anyway..

I have the procedure being done at 11 am and want to make sure I'm nice and clean.

I might go buy a diaper for the ride home.

Still nervous about doing this.

I'm familiar with it(I have crohns) the first time I did it, I was told not to eat solids for three days and it was hell.........chicken broth, water, gatorade and sprite is all I could drink and eat along with the pills. Which made me feel even more hungrier after my fuging bowels were cleaned out.

The day of the procedure was smooth, checked my vitals, weight, etc...... put me under for three hours it was -- I believe. I was woozy and I had to vomit a few times after the operation, but all in all it wasn't too bad.

I had one done about a month ago. Other than the prep procedure there's nothing to it. They'll give you an amnesiac pre-op so you won't remember a thing.

Mine was to rule out Crohn's and IBD.

The prep is the worst part, the procedure is nothing really. Believe me once you take the first pill and start the liquid, you'll poo water out of your ass like you won't believe. So don't worry about waiting til you get home from work before you take the pill (assuming you get home dinner time). Drink water too, if you're too dehydrated from the ass water, its harder for the anesthesia line to go in.

Just attach the seat belt to the commode and don't forget to buckle up. Seriously, the drinking of the gallon of @(&%$## is the worst part

shitty!!!

agree with others...the prep is the worst. That liquid stuff made my guts turns inside out. Feel like they are going through one of those old style washing machine ringers.

I've had them twice. My policy is to take two days off, the day before and the day of the procedure.

The prep makes it difficult if not impossible to do much of anything other than sit and blow liquid out your hole all day.

Conventional wisdon is 50, but if you have stomach issues, 40 is probably a good idea. Severe stomach issues, maybe even sooner.

The newer drugs are the best..... before they came along it was hell.

The best thing I can equate it to (mind you, this is back in the day when they didn't put you under all the way) is inserting a lubricated Babe Ruth model Louisville Slugger when there's no way in hell you think it'll fit....
